I related the events to my creator. He listened intently without interruption.

“I cannot say I am surprised by any of this. Unfortunately, I have already seen these qualities in her. However, Stella has also displayed some good characteristics. The fact that she remains committed to our lifestyle says much.

“Rogue, without a doubt she is wrong but please consider that Stella was created young and remains so. I don’t think she meant for any of this to occur.”

He was right. Already I could feel Lextor waited for me when I returned home. “How is Angie?” He asked, genuinely interested.

     “She is over it.”

     “What happened?”

It was obvious that Stella had not given the details of tonight’s events.

“Where is she?” I asked angrily, ignoring his question.

     “Hiding somewhere in her room.”

“I hope our paths don’t cross again this night because I do not forgive easily.” I was still furious. Maybe I should have stayed the night with Angie; she had a calming effect on me.

     “Tell me what happened?”

some of my anger melt away and sighed inwardly.

“The rest of our family has asked me to apologize to you on their behalf. They feel tonight is not the best time to do it themselves.” Lextor added an apologetic look.

“I do not hold them responsible for anything that happened tonight.” I told him.

“Angie is a very fragrant young lady.” He remarked extracting a smile from me before squeezing my shoulder and exiting the living room.

All of her scents were on my half-naked body. I get to breathe some of her in tonight for a time.

My creator has a gift, which is the ability to defuse certain situations and make it better, or at least not so bad.  It could be that he lived long enough to know how things, life and beings work.

My phone buzzed sometime later as I lay in bed thinking about her.

‘Thank you for saving me, healing me and protecting me. Goodnight, Rogue.’ Angie wrote.

     ‘Anytime. Always. Goodnight, Angelina.’

I inhaled deeply breathing in what was left of her on my body before I stepped outside. It was raining heavily this morning, one of those days. What do humans do on days like these? It’s the perfect day for a hunt and shower in one. Because it was day light, I wore board shorts.

When I entered the forest and saw Margas, Giliana, Dax and Anya waiting for me, my mood skyrocketed. How long had they been waiting there for me? My family knew how much I loved a wet hunt.

I grinned at them. Our bonds reinforced and strengthened. My brothers also wore board shorts. Gillana wore a floral bikini while Anya opted for a green whole swimsuit. Then, Stella came out of hiding in a red bikini. She wanted to join the hunt.

Even as I ignored her, I remembered Lextor’s words. I gestured with my head for her to join us, a truce. I hoped that Stella learnt something from what happened.

We set free several wild beasts for a leisurely hunt. Our house was the last on the private street and our land was extensive. Nature had its way here. We were fully aware of all borders and took care never to cross them.
