A/N: i'm terribly sorry it took me so long to update but i was so busy on saturday and it was fathers day on sunday but i tried my best to update as quick as i could, so here it is chapter 27. -xxxx-

Twenty-seven.

I rang the bell and a few seconds later the door was opened and Darren and I were pulled into a hug. ‘come in come in’ we were back in Michigan to visit Darren’s parents. We were going to have dinner with them together with Chuck and Zuzia. The last time we saw them was when we moved to New York. They had helped moving and painting and all those stuff. We had wanted to see them but everyone was so busy but now it was finally time to see them again. We walk inside and Chuck and Zuzia are already there. Darren and I settle on the couch after we greeted everyone with a hug. I sit between Darren who is seated next to his mom and to Zuzia who is sitting next to Chuck her legs on his lap. And Darren’s dad is sitting next to his mom. ‘So how’s New York?’ Chuck asks smiling. ‘Great really Great’ Darren says and smiles brightly. After we talked for a bit more Chuck started to complain that he was hungry which caused Zuzia to roll her eyes at him while the others just laughed. ‘we can have dinner now right mom?’ he asks. ‘we can do that’ she answers him and smiles. ‘I don’t now if everyone is hungry already’ ‘of course they are’ he says quickly and Zuzia smiles. ‘okay I’ll go prepare dinner then’ she says. ‘What are we having for dinner?’ Darren asks. ‘seriously when it’s about food you two are always interested huhm’ she says and smiles. ‘so…?’ he says. ‘Cheese fondue’ ‘really?’ Darren and Chuck say in unison and share a look. ‘great’ Darren says excitedly. Zuzia and I share a look both not knowing where all the fuss is about. Darren smiles as he sees it. ‘just wait you’ll figure it out soon’ he says and grins. As everyone is settle at the dining table – Darren facing me and Chuck facing Zuzia-  Darren and Chuck both smile at each other. ‘so we have this sort of tradition’ Darren starts and he is supplemented by Chuck who is as excited if not more. ‘yeah and when you drop something in the cheese you have to sing a song’ he says and grins. ‘and yes you guys have to do that too’ he says as he looks at Zuzia and me. ‘oh no’ she says ‘oh yes baby’ he says and smiles. Shit…. I think to myself. I don’t want to sing in front of all of them. We then start to eat and Chuck is the first one to drop his bread. ‘you did that on purpose’ Darren says ‘you just like to show off don’t you’ he says and grins. ‘maybe’ Chuck says and stands up. He walks around the table and stands in front of Zuzia and starts to sing.

Zuzia blushes but smiles at Chuck. He stops singing and kisses her and after that he goes back to his seat. Zuzia leans closer to me and whispers in my ear ‘he planned this I’m sure’ she says which makes me giggle. I’m afraid to eat because I’m scared I’ll drop something and then have to sing which I absolutely don’t want but I try. The first time nothing happens which makes me sigh relieved. I see that Zuzia dropped her bread she quickly looks around if anyone saw but no one did and I smile at her. She quickly puts it back on her fork and acts as if nothing happened. We share a look and then laugh. ‘something funny ladies?’ Darren’s father says. ‘no nothing’ I say and smile. Then Darren drops his bread. ‘I can’t stay behind can I?’ he says and smiles.
