As an apology for last chapters' lack of action, I decided to make this chapter as action filled as I could. Yuika and Manami's fight will be described this time lol. Enjoy~

Alexandra's/Manami's POV

Yui and I were just staring at first. Analyzing is one of our specialities. Once we had our fill, we attacked. Yuika was first to land a punch.

I then retaliated by ducking and sweeping her feet from under her. Which failed because she jumped and evaded my attack. On her way down from the jump, I took advantage of the situation and kicked her up.

She couldn't dodge this move so she went flying a little but recuperated fast. She ran at me at high speed and almost got me. I sidestepped just in time.

I turned my upper body to gain momentum and punch her but decided it was too predictable on my part so I tricked her into believing I was and kicked her instead.

Thankfully she fell for it. But, like all rainbows, you also need rain. Not just sun. She got her katanas out and attacked. I panicked. She really wasn't holding back now.

I'll tell you why I'm panicking first. You see, her twin katanas are... Special. They are made of a certain metal called Akuma no Chikyū. Devil's earth. Not many can wield it's power.

It's kind of like Harry Potter, the wand chooses it's owner. Same concept, the swords choose their wielder. Yuika is the first in a century to wield them. And they are her trump card for every fight. Her signature move you can call it.

Those damned katanas don't only make physical injuries. The wounds are soul-linked as well. If you have a tainted soul, the katanas will act correspondingly to the situation. They could either erase your existence forever sending you to 'hell', or purify your soul. How troublesome. Then again, that is also if Yuika wishes for it to be so.

I could hear Akumu panicking from here. I could also hear Shikamaru panicking thanks to Akumu. That didn't unnerve me however. What unnerved me was a gaze I could feel on myself.

Yuika swung at me and I tried my best to dodge. I ended up getting a small cut on my arms though. She swung again not letting me get a hit in at all. This time the wound was not just a scratch. It was pretty deep.

Not deep to the point of dying, but deep enough to scar. I looked at Yuika and narrowed my eyes. I wasn't going down like this. No way.

I blocked the next hit with my metal cuffs. Then I undid them. No one knows they're also weights. I set them down gently, not wanting to bring attention to them. I moved my wrists a little to stretch them and clenched my hands into a fist.

I swung my arms as fast as I could and landed a hit. Yuika wasn't the only one surprised however. Everyone in the building gasped side from a few Jounin and a couple unimpressable genin. Ignore my inability to speak.

"How are you this fast!? You never trained on speed! How..." She trailed off trying to quickly think of anything that could explain the sudden speed I gained.

Without an explanation I kept attempting to land hits on her. That's how we kept going. I hit, she dodged, I hit again, she wouldn't dodge. On and on and on.

That's until I had enough. Yuika was winning by a landslide. I may have had an advantage in speed, but she had a greater advantage in fight experience.

I decided it was time to get serious. I had to win. If I don't, how will I prove to the world that I can save them? I did the only other thing I could think of. I summoned Akuma.

"What now bitc-oh. How may I help you milady?" Akuma asked noticing my situation. "Akuma, chūnin exams, prelims, help." Was all I had to say.

Akuma nodded and merged with me. Now I had claws, fangs, and black demon wings I could summon if I wished to. I only use them in emergencies though so I won't be using those just yet. Not to mention my hair came out of its normal pony tail and was crazy wild, defying gravity.

When we merged, I heard squealing. The terrified kind. I guess it didn't help that when I merge with Akuma, my skin also gains a scaly texture. Demon's extra protective layer of skin. Kind of hard to pierce through but not impossible.

Yuika smirked. "So you're finally getting serious huh?" She called out to me.

"Play time is over Yui. We're not sparring at the training grounds. This is important. Just know that I don't aim to harm. Just disarm." I told her, my voice distorted.

Yuika didn't even spare a word, just attacked. We went back and forth. Hitting and dodging, slicing and blocking attacks.

Finally, I decided enough was enough and spread my wings. They were about 6 ft. wide each and 5 ft. tall. Which, if you think about my height, is actually pretty big. They dragged behind me.

I stretched them out a bit and suddenly blocked Yuika's katanas by curling them forward and covering myself. I did that for a minute or so just trying to recover my strength.

Suddenly, I regained my energy out of nowhere and retracted my wings as my vision zeroed in on Yuika.

Thump

Thump

Thump

It's like time slowed down for me. My senses were going haywire. The smell of dirt, sweat, blood, all of it filling my nose. I could see in perfect detail. The bead of sweat starting to fall from Yuika's forehead. I could feel the chilly air and the hot sun at the same time, slightly burning and soothing my skin together. The taste of metal in my mouth. I could hear everyone's breath. Every single one of them. I could hear their judgment. I could feel their eyes, judging me. Just like at home.

'No, stop thinking about that Manami. Focus. You got this.' My train of thought cut off by Yuika bringing her katana down on me and catching me off guard by slicing the other one across.

I beat my wings with force and panic and sent her flying back a couple feet. When she landed she stayed down for a while and I wondered if I had won.

However, I was proven wrong when she disappeared in a poof of smoke. Shadow clone. Damn it. I heard movement behind me and reacted to it. Without looking I threw my hand back and blocked the katana with my bare hand.

She put pressure on it causing it to slightly cut my hand. I turned my head slowly to look at her and she gasped.

"Manami... Your eyes..." She whispered to me. I was confused. What about them? Wait, what if it's a trick?

I didn't want her tricking me then attacking so I backed up and high kicked her, touching the ground with my hands and bringing up my other leg to kick her using the momentum. She blocked both kicks and threw kunai blindly at me in defence.

Out of nowhere, I felt pain in my chest and lower abdomen. Numbing pain. It's like I forgot how to breathe. I felt so... Cold. What's going on?

I could hear muffled screams and saw a frozen Yuika in front of me. I looked down and noticed two kunai stuck in my body. One on my chest, the other in my stomach.

Slowly, I looked back up to see a teary Shikamaru, Akumu, Yuika, and a pissed off Shino. Huh, never thought I'd see the day...

"Manami, stay awake. Listen to me. Listen to my voice. Stay awake. Stay strong. Please." Shikamaru pleaded me with a shaky and cracking voice.

"I-isn't it f-f-funny how I k-keep getting in-to these s-sit-uatio-ns? I-I just woke up f-for f-f-fuck's sake." I tried to say but the pain was blinding.

Akumu started talking to me now. "Manami, I swear if you die on me, I'll make sure to go to the afterlife and torture you like there's no tomorrow. I'll haunt you till the end of time you hear me?!" She yelled.

I smiled weakly and coughed up blood, only being able to open one eye now from the exhaustion catching up to me.

Soon the medics were dragging me away. "L-loud and c-clear, B-b-butte-ercu-up." I coughed out.

Then, my whole world turned black as I heard a few last words and a pained scream that broke my heart.

"Manami you promised!!"
