Narrator's POV
After they took Manami, it was Shikamaru's turn to fight. Of course, he was too distraught to fight but did it anyway for her. He won, but he didn't feel like a winner, let alone happy he didn't have to fight again anymore.
In his mind, he has just lost one of his most precious things in life. His lazy demeanor was replaced with a zoned out but worried expression instead. He thought she was dying and he couldn't be there.
But that wasn't the case. What he doesn't know is that Manami doesn't only have one summoning. She has two. And Tenshi can easily cure her wounds.
As a matter of fact, the doctors trying to heal Manami right now are freaking out because an angel just appeared before them and is healing their patient who they were having trouble stabilizing at first.
Manami was not even worried in the slightest when she saw her wounds knowing Tenshi could easily fix it. Unbeknownst to everyone else, she's been in a worse situation and Tenshi healed her within 10 minutes. Of course she didn't wake up for 5 days though.
Akumu was pacing back and forth awaiting her turn. She was real antsy at the current moment, just wanting to punch anything with a face for her worries and anger.
Yuika felt the worst however. She had just accidentally stabbed one of her new best friends! She didn't mean to! She was just trying to defend herself! But she panicked and her aim suffered for it. Sure, Manami was acting weird and her eyes changed! But that didn't help ease the pain any.
She felt like everyone who knew Manami hated her, but that wasn't the case either. At all actually. They all felt sympathy for the raven haired girl. They knew she felt terrible because they saw the accident and didn't blame her at all.
The preliminaries went on smoothly fight after fight. Except the injuries of course... But that's not what matters.
There was a slight change in the fights though. Gaara never destroyed Lee's bones. He just wore him out and knocked him out, which surprised Temari and Kankuro greatly.
Next up, and final fight, was Akumu.
Akumu Song
Vs.
Hideyoshi Kosonoy.Everyone looked at the screen with wide curious eyes. It has to be a coincidence right? Wrong. They were just about to find out about Manami's secrets that even she didn't know about.
Akumu's POV
I'm sorry... WHAT!? How is this even possible? I never even heard of a Kosonoy clan. They can't be related right? Right!?
He kind of does look like her though. He has the same eyes and stance. You know, like how they carry themselves. They both have that 'I know something you don't' air to them.
"Who are you?" I demanded for him to answer me, glaring. And he pissed me off by smirking and answering me smugly. "Wouldn't you like to know."
If he's related to Manami-chan I'll just apologize to her later, but I'm kicking this guy's ass for sure. And I won't be sorry. Not one bit.
Hideyoshi's POV
Manami Kosonoy. So that's what she looks like now. She's as beautiful as always. But it seems she doesn't know who she is since she lost really bad.
I'm not surprised though. I was told this might happen. I'll just have to remind her who she is. She's been gone for almost 30 years after all.
It seems her teammate already hates me though. I smirked. Shame, she's really pretty. No, I have to stop. I'm engaged already.
I already had her moves memorized by now. Just by 'seeing' her fight I can say she's a great fighter. Unfortunately, just not good enough to fight a Kosonoy.
Within 10 minutes, I had already beaten her. She was panting pretty hard. And glaring at me. Don't forget the glaring. She really looked like she wanted to murder me.
Or at least that's what I could tell because she really only had an unimpressed, and tired, look on her face but I knew better. I could really see the fire behind that look.
She was on the ground trying to stand up. She's got spunk, I'll give her that. But definitely not smart in battle. I just beat her in a blink of an eye and she won't give up. I admire that trait but sometimes you need to know when to stay down.
I swept her arms out of the way, causing her to fall down again. This time she stayed down. I won the match. I sighed, ignoring the proctor who kept repeating that the match was over and to back up.
They must think I'm going to harm her. Idiots. I knelt down closer to her. "Hey, you ok?" I asked her, offering my hand.
She looked at it and turned her nose huffing stubbornly. "Are you seriously this stubborn? I'm offering a peace treaty. You and I have one person we care for in common. I've no reason to harm you. So take it." I told her.
She narrowed her eyes at me and took my hand grumbling. I chuckled. "You're an interesting one, y'know?"
Akumu's POV
"You're an interesting one, y'know?" He said. Huh, he has that little speech quirk that Manami has.
I narrowed my eyes at him. No matter how nice he's being, I don't trust him. At all. How is it that Manami never mentioned this guy or her actual family let alone a clan?
Yet, this guy acts like he knows her. Sure, they look and act somewhat alike but, how do I know he's not messing with my head? So I asked him.
"Who are you really? To Manami I mean. She's never mentioned you before. She's never mentioned her family, let alone a clan. So who are you?"
Shikamaru's POV
I walked up to Akumu to see if she wanted to visit Manami at the hospital since the preliminaries were over. But when I got close enough I heard her talking.
"Who are you really? To Manami I mean. She's never mentioned you before. She's never mentioned her family, let alone a clan. So who are you?" Akumu asked the guy.
I was wondering the same. Is that like a brother of hers? Cousin? And why is he here now? Because there's no way he's here just to catch up after all these years.
"I'm an old friend of hers. I don't blame her for not mentioning me however. She probably doesn't even remember me. She's been gone from home for a long time after all. But recently, our clan has been in trouble and need their little princess to come back." He informed us.
Princess? Like a real princess? Or is that a pet name? I had so many questions but no answers. It was slowly eating away at my brain.
"Princess? Wait, like a literal princess?" Akumu asked him, voicing my thoughts.
Hideyoshi nodded. "Yes. Well, actually yes and no. I'd tell you exactly what she is but I need to talk to her first. So if you want to know more about her you'll just have to wait till she tells you herself." He said.
"Wait, why are you telling her? Does she not have any siblings? Or other people from your clan that can tell her themselves?" I asked him, not liking this guy much.
Hideyoshi blushed and smiled sheepishly, saying what would send my heart plummeting down to my stomach.
"Well, her parents thought it'd be best if her old friend came to remind her. Not to mention, we are engaged."
