Savannah's POV

I woke up with the sun shining brightly on my face. I was still in my happy-state from the party. Even though I despise Griffin, I still enjoyed that kiss on the cheek. I guess I'm happy because it is sort of my first kiss, but not exactly.

Also, I learned that Griffin has some secrets of his own. He wants love from his parents, like me. We both know our parents love us, but we want them to show their love to us. We don't care about money or things, we just want love from our parents.

I quickly got out of the bed and dressed into a turquoise sweater, a black skirt, black tights, and my heeled boots. My blonde hair was still straight from the party so I didn't bother to curl it or anything.

I rushed down the stairs and the smell of breakfast was absent. I slowly walked towards the kitchen, wondering where Megan and Winston were.

I reached the marble kitchen island and saw a note:

Savannah,

Winston and I have been asked to visit your parents. We're taking a flight to Virginia and are expected to be there in one hour. We'll be gone for at least two weeks to prepare for your parents' special Thanksgiving dinner. We are terribly sorry that we won't be able to spend Thanksgiving together as a happy family.

Sincerely,
Megan and Winston

I sighed and placed the note down. I guess I'll spend another holiday, alone. My stomach growled, interrupting my sad thoughts. I walked to the refrigerator and took out a strawberry yogurt and a banana.

I quickly walked out of the door and headed towards school.

When I walked into school, I heard everyone talking about the Winter Ball. The Winter Ball was basically a dance with a winter-theme. The only difference with our Winter Ball is that we have a Santa and we can tell him what we want for Christmas. It may seem childish, but it is really funny when you sit on the lap of Santa and tell him about your wish list.

Mackenzie rushed towards me and began to squeal loudly.

She grinned at me. "Guess what?"

I sighed at her. "What?"

"Griffin is going to bring a date to the Winter Ball and it could be any girl!" she shouted rather loudly.

I rolled my eyes at her crazy behavior. "Where did you here that from?"

She nodded excitedly. "He told me and I might have a chance to be his lucky girl!"

This just makes me upset. All of these girls in our school are in love with Griffin, but I just don't get it. Sure, he's good-looking and athletic, but his attitude is unacceptable.

Mackenzie snapped her fingers in front of my face. "Savannah! Are you listening?"

I nodded slowly. "Yes..."

Mackenzie quickly turned me around and I was facing Griffin, the jerk. She clutched onto my arm with a huge smile plastered on her face.

He smirked at me. "Savvy, I need to talk to you about something important."

Before I could reject his offer, he grabbed my hand and dragged me down the hallway towards an empty classroom. I bet he is going to kill me and there will be no witnesses. He won't get guilty for my murder and that will be the end of me. He sat on the teacher's desk and smiled, a wicked grin. I stood in front of him and narrowed my eyes, suspiciously. What is he planning?

He ran a hand through his blonde hair. "Sugar angel, I just wanted you to know that the kiss on the cheek meant nothing so stop making it awkward."

I gawked at him. I'm the one making it awkward? He's the one who kissed me on the cheek!

I began to rant. "Listen, here. I am not making anything awkward. Why did you kiss me on the cheek? Huh? Are you trying to play me? Well, I'm not falling for that!"

He chuckled at me. "First, I'm not trying to play you. Second, it was a friendly gesture."

I growled at him. "That is not a friendly gesture!"

He rolled his eyes at me. "Is too."

I sighed at him, knowing he is too stubborn. "Is there anything else?"

He ran a hand through his hair and smirked. "Yeah and you might not like it."

My eyes widened, as I grew anxious. "What is it?"

He came closer to me and announced. "Go to the dance with me, Savannah."

I quirked an eyebrow at him. Why does he want to go with me? Am I that special to him? I thought we were enemies. Either way, I don't want to go with him.

I smirked at him. "No, thanks."

He chuckled and shook his head. "It wasn't an offer, but a demand. You have no say in this."

I frowned at him. "Why me? There are so many girls, who want to go with you!"

He tsked at me. "In case you did not know, those girls are crazy psychos! I don't want to spend the whole night with some crazy chick. I want to have fun."

I was still confused and quirked an eyebrow. "What about Mackenzie?"

He rolled his eyes at me. "I know she has a crush on me and I don't want her to make googly eyes at me."

He got me there. I guess I have to go to the Winter Ball with him. It should be fun, or at least I hope.

I sighed at him. "Fine, I would love to go with you."

He beamed at me and hugged me, which surprised us both. We quickly pulled away, noticing the awkwardness. He ended up taking my hand and led me out of the classroom. Before I knew it, everyone was staring at the two of us, holding hands.

Griffin coughed to gain everyone's attention. "Everyone! I have made my final decision and I chose Savannah Winters!"

Then, we walked together down the hallway. Girls were glaring and scowling at me, while the boys gave me the thumbs-up.

I really hope I can survive the fan girls and I will hurt Griffin for choosing me. If it wasn't for him, the entire female population wouldn't hate me.
