Savannah's POV
The rain fell softly against the car window of Griffin's car and I watched the raindrops, intrigued by them. The snow blizzard passed, a day ago, and we were on our way to Washington D.C. to have Thanksgiving with Griffin's parents.
I turned around to face him and noticed that he was smiling, showing off his dimples, and humming along to some 80's song. He ran a hand through his short blonde hair and continued to drive along the Interstate.
"You can stop staring at me, Savvy. I already know I'm good-looking," Griffin responded smugly.
"I don't think so. I was just thinking of what happened to your face?" I lied, fully knowing that he was, in fact, attractive. He didn't need to know that or else his ego will get bigger.
"You're lying. I'm an angel," he answered with a wide grin, showing off his white, but not perfect, teeth.
"Sure and I'm the President's daughter," I retorted and rolled my eyes.
He began to tap his fingers against the driver's wheel to the rhythm of the rain. A hum was heard from his mouth and before I knew it, I began to hum to the song, A Dream Is A Wish You're Heart Makes.
He abruptly stopped and I looked at him for an explanation. "Something wrong, Griffin?"
He scratched the back of his neck and glanced at me. "Who is that guy on your phone screen?"
It took a moment, before it dawned on me that he snooped on my phone. My phone! That idiot looked at my phone and invaded my privacy!
I sighed at him, deciding to just tell him to save the drama. "He's B--"
"Your boyfriend!" he exclaimed and interrupted me.
The car stopped unexpectedly, causing me to jerk forward in my seat and Griffin to do the same. I glared at his atrocious driving skills, which caused him to sheepishly smile.
"No, he's not my boyfriend," I answered and crossed my arms. "Also, I would appreciate it if you stop snooping on my phone."
He smiled at me and his cheeks tinged a light pink. I glanced at him and couldn't help, but smile at how adorable he looked. My heart swelled and I finally found my voice to ask another question. "Why are you asking?"
"Because you don't look girlfriend material," he remarked with a smirk.
I gaped at him. He did not just do that! I take back what I said. He is not adorable, he is demonic!
He began to laugh at me, causing me to groan at him. "Who is he, then?" he asked and continued to laugh.
"My cousin, Brayden. He graduated Greenwich High, last year."
"Oh, I remember him. He dated that chick named Arianna, I believe? She was so perfect and all the guys wanted her."
My heart broke because of his words. He wanted her? I guess my hope shouldn't have been that high, then.
"First, she's a girl, not a chick. Second, you liked her?" I couldn't help, but ask.
He shook his head at me. "Never did. Brayden and Arianna were made for each other."
I smiled at the news. He was right about that. "Who was your first girlfriend?" I asked randomly.
"Uh..." he answered, not expecting my question.
"Was it Melissa?" I asked him cautiously. She was one of Arianna's friends, but became a jerk to her, last year.
He muttered something under his breath, making his words inaudible. "Excuse me?" I asked and strained to hear his words.
"I never had a girlfriend," he informed me quickly and I gaped at him. That was impossible! He was Griffin, the playboy!
"Okay. First kiss?"
"Never had one," he answered quietly so I had to lean in again to hear.
My mouth opened wide again and I examined his face to see if he was lying. His cheeks tinged pink and he had a small smile on his face. It was true.
"But you're the playboy!" I exclaimed.
He sighed at me. "I was never the playboy. I'm just the boy, who every girl hits on. I just happen to go on dates with them because I'm too nice to reject them and I want attention."
"Attention?"
"I've told you that my dad is always away and my mom works hard at the bakery. I feel so alone and I just need someone to talk to."
I nodded at him, understanding what he went through. My parents are always working too and my brother is in college, which is in New York. Sometimes, it does get lonely.
"I'm waiting for that special girl, who will love me for who I am and not my looks. I'm tired of girls who hit on me because of that. Honestly, it's about the inside, not the outside. It's a shame that some people fail to realize that."
I placed a hand on his knee and he smiled at me. "Savannah, you were one of those people, but you got to know me. You are the friend, that I never got to have. Thank you."
Before I could respond to him, the car reached a huge white building, known as the White House. "We're here," he whispered, as the car passed by the gates and we got in the driveway.
The car stopped and I immediately jumped out of the car with Griffin doing the same. We got our luggage out of the trunk and made our way to the entrance.
We passed by big, green, freshly cut lawns with flower beds and a magnificent fountain spewing blue, sparkling water.
Griffin smiled at me, as he rang the doorbell and the sound radiated among the white walls inside the house. "You'll love it here, Savannah."
I already did...
The door opened and a lady, dressed in a black and white pants suit with her shiny black hair in a tight bun, appeared in the doorway. Her smile widened at the sight of us and beckoned us inside.
We stepped inside and there were pillars on either side of the grand entrance hall. The floors were freshly polished with a red carpet, lined in gold, atop of it. I looked up towards the artistic engravings on the ceiling and there were at least five chandeliers hanging. This place was absolutely stunning and gigantic.
A cough was heard and my eyes focused on a man in a dark blue, pressed suit. His hair was almost gray, making his original brown hair go unnoticeable. I guess working hard makes you age quicker.
"Savannah Georgia Winter, it is a pleasure to see you again," the man announced in a sophisticated manner.
I gave him a quick nod, before saying, "Same to you too, Mr. President."
