Savannah's POV

We reached the hotel and the temperature warmed up our cold bodies from the snow. I froze in my spot, causing Griffin to turn around to look at me with raised eyebrows.

"Savvy?" he asked. He tugged on my arm a couple of times, trying to bring me out of my daze.

I finally broke out of it and smiled. "Go on without me. I just need some time, alone."

He nodded and brought my hand close to his lips, kissing it gently. The action caused shivers down my spine, while I blushed. As Griffin walked away, I plopped down on a nearby chair and sighed greatly.

I had to sort out my feelings. Griffin cares about me and I care about him, but do I really like that playboy? Have I fallen for his charm?

Before I could ponder on those thoughts, a person coughed to gain my attention. I looked up and saw the old lady, from the desk, smiling down at me.

"He must care about you a lot," the old lady commented with a smile.

I raised an eyebrow at her. "Are you eavesdropping on my conversations, old lady?" I asked in a worried and annoyed tone. How much did this old lady know? She might have to say her goodbyes...

"Well, this old lady has a name. You can call me Meredith," the old lady replied.

"Well, Meredith, you didn't answer my question," I snapped, already growing impatient.

"I just happened to be outside when you two had your 'moment'," Meredith explained with a smile. She tapped her finger on her chin until a mischievous smile grew on her face. "I bet the young man likes you. Do you like him?"

I sighed at her. "I'm sorry to disappoint you with your sudden interest in my love life, but I honestly have no idea."

"How do you feel when you are around him?" she asked curiously.

"Sometimes annoyed, but mostly happy. We have gotten closer and sometimes he makes my heart flutters," I answered with a small smile. I hate it, when Griffin does this without even knowing it.

The old lady gasped at me, reminding me of a young teenager. I have to say, she is sort of growing on me. "My friend, it looks like you developed a tiny crush on that boy!" Meredith exclaimed.

I gaped at her. There was no way this could have happened! I made a vow, when I was fourteen years old, that I wouldn't fall for his charm. "It looks like you're conflicted with your feelings and you wish you didn't like him, but you do," Meredith continued.

"This can't be happening!" I shouted at her with frustration. "He's the playboy and I don't want to turn into one of those girls, who gets their hearts broken."

"I'm pretty sure there's more to him than that. Search deeper, darling," she advised.

"What?" Griffin asked, coming out of nowhere.

I groaned at his timing and I can't believe I like this idiot. "It's nothing, Griff. I was just talking to Meredith," I said with a smile, before I waved goodbye to the old lady.

Griffin took my hand and led me back to our room. "I was so bored. What took you so long?" he asked with a pout.

I laughed at his childish actions. "Just chatting with the nice, old lady."

Griffin laughed, as we settled into our hotel room. "Old lady? Savannah, she has a name."

"Whatever, dude," I replied.

I sat on the sofa and began to flip through the tv channels with the remote. It finally landed on a decent show, Pretty Little Liars. Meanwhile, Griffin was scrolling through his phone.

"Savvy?" Griffin asked, causing me to face him and not the tv.

"What?"

"Look at this!" Griffin demanded and shoved his phone in my face.

I looked at his phone screen and saw that it was his Instagram home page. I raised an eyebrow at him. "What am I supposed to be looking at?"

"There is this thing trending all over the media. Apparently, the President spilled to the reporters that he has a daughter! Everyone is trying to guess who his mystery daughter looks like," Griffin explained and he had a spark in his eyes.

"You're going to date her, aren't you?" I asked with raised eyebrows.

He smirked at me. "Maybe. I am the Vice President's son so it is kind of expected."

"Playboy," I muttered, trying to disguise how hurt I was. I was right, he doesn't like me. Why did I have so much hope? I should have known, but I was dumb enough to fall for him.

He wrapped his arm around my shoulders. "We might be able to meet her, when we visit the White House. I can't wait!" he exclaimed.

I pushed his arm away, as I felt my heart crumble to a million pieces. He cares about you, but he doesn't like you. He sees you as a friend, but not a girlfriend.

I stormed out of the room and made my way to the hotel lobby. I heard his shouts, but I ignored them. I'm tired of getting hurt.

I got outside and it began to snow harder, as the snow storm picked up speed. Tears flowed down my cheeks and it hurt so much. The pain and the tears were too much for me. Was crying over a boy worth it?

I continued to walk outside with the snow crunching underneath my feet. I don't know why I thought I had a chance with Griffin. I'm not pretty enough and I'm not special.

My thoughts were interrupted, when a snowball hit me and sent chills down my spine. I turned around and saw a grinning Griffin. Why can't he just leave me alone so I can cry!

He ran towards me with a huge smile on his face. When he reached me, he noticed my sour expression, causing him to frown.

"Everything okay?" he asked with worry.

"I'm fine," I snapped at him.

He touched my arm with his hand, causing butterflies in my stomach. "Usually, when people say they are fine, they aren't. Now, tell me why you are upset."

"I just followed my heart instead of my brain, which ended up being a mistake," I replied with a sad smile.

He lifted my chin up and I stared into his blue eyes. "I hope our friendship wasn't a mistake."
