After dinner I slunk back to my room. Seymour hadn't really talked to me while we ate but he didn't make it obvious, well obvious to the others. I, however, knew better then that. I couldn't help the paranoia that accompanied the wait for Seymour's response. I didn't do well when it came to things like this. My mind would race with all the worst case scenarios! It was eating away at me and I almost dragged him into the room with me to talk to him but held myself back and got under the covers.
I had no intentions of sleeping in all actuality, not that I could with my head and heart racing. I nearly jumped out of my skin when the door opened up. My heart hammered in my chest and my mouth went dry. I watch him as he took off his shoes and his robe then place his staff in a chair. He stood over me waiting for me to scout over. I did so in a hurry and watched as his crawled into bed with me. He laid on his side facing me. He just looked at me for sometime making me break out in a cold sweat.
"What?" I asked nervously.
"This game you played. How accurate is it really?" Seymour asked propping his head up on his hand.
"Pretty fucking accurate, the names, what you guys have been saying but like I said before, things are different with me here." I said.
"Do you believe if you never came here that it would got the way this game said it would?" He asked stressing the 'believe' in his sentence.
"Yes. I really do." I said honestly. Why should I believe it wouldn't, the game already knew so much about them and their world? Why would it not also be right about what happens?
"Then, I owe you my life." He said grabbing my hand and bringing it up to his lips to kiss. I blushed at the contact as the memory of him kissing me near Bevelle came to mind.
"I lied to you though." I squeaked still feeling guilty.
"You are forgiven just as you have forgiven me." Seymour reassured.
"Now we're even!" I chirped.
"Not quite, I feel like a dept. is still owed to you." Seymour persisted.
"You owe me nothing, you've done more then you think you have. Beside, what are friends for!" I said honestly. I didn't want him to feel like he owed me anything. No one owes me anything. I just wanted Sin to be destroyed like everyone else.
"I guess you are right, forgive me for not knowing much about what exactly friends should do." Seymour apologized.
"Don't worry about it! I'll teach you all about it!" I promised him giggling. 'I'm not that far ahead of you! While at my dad's I really didn't have any friends and if I did we would move so often I would lose them before I knew it.' I said to him in my head. I know he wasn't a mind reader but I didn't want to bring up mine or his past. I would rather it all be swept away and unthought-of. Who needed to remember the past anyways? As long as you learned your lesson and remember what it was you learned their was no real reason to actually remember it. At least that's what I think. Maybe I'm wrong for it but it's worked for me this far? Why shouldn't it work from now on?
"I shall be in your capable hands then." Seymour smiled. Kimahri walked in, placed his lance down and got into bed. I looked over at the Ronso until he was in bed completely.
"I guess I'll turn off the light then!" I said crawling over Seymour accidentally kneeing him in the stomach. I uttered a sorry and pushed the button cutting off the light. I stumbled my way back to bed I was going to crawl back into my spot but Seymour stopped me. "Come on, I promise I wont knee you in the stomach!" I whined.
"Your right, you'll aim lower then that." Seymour said smoothly.
"I can't believe you would think so lowly of me!" I gasped but laughed as I did so. To be honest it would of been tempting to do so. What can I say, I'm a bitch! "Okay then scoot over!" I told him. He did and I got into the bed and faced away form him. I had just settled in when an arm was thrown around my waist. I tensed up but kept silent about it, until he scooted himself flush up against me. "Seymour?" I whispered remembering the Kimahri was in the room with us trying to sleep.
