I walked back until I was at the gate of Bevelle. It was truly a magnificent city, if you could ignore the corruption of the church that lies within it. I was addressed by the guards when I tried to enter the gates onto the main road. I told them I was with Maestor Seymour who had just came through here a little while ago. I told them I got separated from him and his guards and just now was able to find my way back.
"Very well then we will lead you back to him." The guards said leading me into the city. I felt more like a prisoner being transported then a guest being lead to my friend. Everything in the city had some sort of sign of Yevon or the church on it. We went up on a lift to the center of the city to the highest tower. 'Machina is bad my ass, hypocrites.' I grumbled stepping off the lift into a dimly lit place with the two guards still babysitting me. They knocked on a door that the two goons were guarding and waited.
"Hi guys." I greeted them awkwardly and received only an inclination of their heads. 'Good enough for me I guess.'
"Yes?" Seymour asked opening the door. His eyes fell on me and his face hardened like steel. "I see. You may go back to your duties." Seymour said waving me inside. The guards immediately took their leave. I looked down both sides of the hall way before entering the room and shutting the door behind me. The room was nicely made, It was like a hotel suite. 'Wouldn't surprise me if that is what it was a thousand years ago.'
"Are you going to just stand there against the door or are you going to come in?" Seymour asked emotionlessly. I gulped and with slightly shaky feet I walked in and sat down at the small table across form him. He was currently eating lunch. I looked at my lap waiting for what, I don't know.
"I'm sorry, for slapping you but you had no right to do that..." I said after a while of unbearable silence. I looked up to see him with his head rested on his interlaced fingers while looking at me emotionlessly. "You see..." I said taking off my bag and quiver and setting them on the ground. I unsoldered my bow and placed it on the back of my chair.
"I understand." He said interrupting me.
"You do? Whew I was afraid this would ruin our friendship! I mean those two acts usually do the trick by themselves. I guess we can no officially say our friendship has been tested in fire and was strong enough to come out in one piece!" I said feeling like a burden was lifted from my shoulders.
"That is why I'm going to make sure you no longer suffer." Seymour said. My stomach tied in knots and my world came crashing around on me. "Guards." Seymour yelled. Immediately several monks came in through the door. I got up and backed away but was seized at the arms by two of the guards.
"Seymour!" I yelled digging my heels into the floor as they dragged me out. "Seymour please! Don't do this! I'm begging you!" I sobbed as my heart raced in my chest. I looked back at him and continued to fight to stay in the room. I knew that if I could stay in the room I could possibly change his mind. I grabbed the door frame and wouldn't let go. "Seymour! I said I was sorry! Please! Why must it be me who always says sorry?" I asked as they smashed my hand with the butt of there gun. He just kept looking at me as they dragged me. "WHY ME?" I screamed at him and at whoevers fault me being in this world was.
They dragged me to the lift easier then they could getting me out of the room since I was no longer fighting them. I looked at each of the guards and was only graced with the somewhat sympathetic gaze of one as I past. As the doors closed I looked to the door I looked at the door hoping beyond hope he would come out and tell them to let me go but the doors closed shutting down my hope. I sobbed loudly as we descend in the lift. I was pushed out of the lift and was dragged to a hanging cage.
"Get up there." The monk demanded pushing me towards the ladder that lead up to it. I didn't fight back and obediently climbed up the ladder. The second my feet touched the metal of the cage the ladder was taken down as if they were scared I would climb back down it. I walked further into the cage and sat against the bars furthest from the door. It slammed shut causing me to jump from the sudden loud noise.
