"All hail Maester Seymour!" A voice was heard yelling among the crowd.
"Brave Crusaders of Spira, protectors of all Spira. Believe in the path you have chosen, let faith be your strength! I, Seymour Guado, maester of Yevon, will bear witness to your deeds today." Seymour said in the same manner he did at the docks. He still had my arm as he did so drawing me into the spot light.
"Sir!" All the Crusaders said saluting him.
"What's goin' on? Why's Maester Seymour backing the Crusaders, eh? They're using the Al Bhed's machina! They're violating the teachings!" I could hear Wakka protest from behind me.
"Even going against the teachings they're willing to risk it for the greater good. Wakka, I think Maester Seymour sees that, too." Yuna said trying to soothe Wakka.
"Lulu?" Wakka asks hoping for some back up.
"Hmm... I can only speculate." Lulu shakes her head not feeding into Wakka and his Religious rant.
Auron: "Ask him yourself." Auron interjects just as me and Seymour walk over to them.
"Ah, Sir Auron. It is an honor. I would be most interested in hearing what you've been doing these past ten years." Seymour says pleasantly. Auron and I both know at what he's hinting at but we do make any visible sign of knowing.
"I've got nothing to say about it." He says darkly before walking off to Yevon knows where.
"I...see. Sir Auron must be a great asset as a guardian." Seymour said turning his attention to Yuna.
"Your Grace!" Yuna dips slightly in respect.
"Please, there's no need for formalities." Seymour insists.
"Yeah guys, there is no need for formalities when it comes to Maester Seymour. Wouldn't want to feed the ego now would we?" I said with a giant smile plastered to my face as I said it. Yuna's eyes widened along with Wakka's. Lulu and Kimahri didn't care much but Tidus looked rather pleased.
"Excuse me... Maester Seymour? Why is your Lordship...presently... present here...sir?" Wakka said rather awkwardly rubbing the back of his head while looking down to the ground.
"Please, speak as you normally would." Seymour prompts him.
"Isn't this operation against the teachings of Yevon? Aren't you gonna stop them?" Wakka said getting a bit huffy. 'Wakka, your an awesome dude but this is really bugging the shit out of me. It's all fine and dandy to have beliefs but to want them followed by all? That's not cool bro.' I shook my head at him slowly.
"It's true... I should. However... Both the Crusaders and the Al Bhed truly wish peace for Spira. This Operation Mi'ihen was born from that wish they share. Although it may be sacrilege to Yevon, their intentions are pure. And I, Seymour Guado -- the person, not the maester of Yevon... As a denizen of Spira, I wish them well in their endeavor." Seymour said speaking like a true politician, I hate it.
"But, using machina... That's bad, isn't it?"
"Pretend you didn't see them."
"Beg your pardon, but that's not something a maester should say!"
"Then, pretend I didn't say it."
"You're kidding!"
"Ohhhhhh!" I said doubling over covering my mouth. "He go you Wakka!" I laughed, I always thought this part was funny as hell. Wakka gets a nice metaphoric kick in the ass when it comes to his beloved religion dished out to the equivalent of the Pope's bitch! Seymour leads me away from them and I take my arm away from him to hold my sides.
