After my mom's death, my grandparents moved into my mom's bedroom. The funeral had taken place a few days after we had found her at the house. I was given a few more days off of school but today was the day I had to go back.
At school, everyone began to ask where I had been the past week and a half. I explained the whole situation only to hear a bunch of, "I'm so sorry!"s or "May she rest in pieces" which was said as a joke by the school bully. As tears started welling up in my eyes, Keira came and pushed me away.
"Don't worry about him. He's just a big bully." Keira reassured me. Even so though I knew she was right, it still hurt me.
The week once again flew by. I was caught up on everything I missed and I surprisingly wasn't failing school. I had to go back to the doctors' office every weekend to get x-rays on my leg. Thankfully, they said that I could get it off in two weeks and, depending on how well I could control my foot when the cast came off, start physical therapy. At least maybe her foot has a chance of getting better now. ~Katie
