Zack, Jade, Amanda, and the rest of us were gathered at the house the very next day.. Dad was still extremely mad and we haven't known the whole story yet. They wanted us to gather immediately to tell us the important knews.
Steven sat alone on a couch, his golden curls falling to his eyes, tears welling up in his hazel eyes. Maybe he's afraid of what we'll think.
"So, Steven here has lost his future" Dad said annoyingly making us confused especially the elder ones who didn't know anything. "Your stupid of a brother got a girl pregnant and now he'll take responsibility of his actions.. He'll still be in highschool, but after he'll find a full time job to take care of the baby.. I told you all to be careful, especially you boys.. So now there's new rules.. You can not go on unsupervised dates, you cannot stay out past 9.. You are not to be alone with your boyfriends or girlfriends and I actually prefer that you'd break up.. You just ruined your future son." Dad said then stormed out the room leaving us baffled.
"Who is the girl?" Riley whisper asked.
"Samantha.. She told me two month ago as soon as she knew" Now I understand his worry and nervousness all those months ago.
"Don't worry" Zack said "It's gonna be fine, I'll help you get into college"
"No" Steve said "It's my problem, I'll take care of my problems.. I should man up"
"Yeah honey, but we can help.. After all we are a family and that is our niece or nephew" Jade said with a little smile "Dad will cool off" She comforted. Mom just sat silently looking at the mess that was my brother.
"No.. I don't need help" He said with a low tone then got up and went to the boy's room. I wonder were the baby will sleep.. Or will dad help with the baby food and diapers? I know Steve has a part time job, but is it enough? And what about Samantha? What if dad forced him to marry her? Will she move in with us? What will Steve do? Oh my God, his life is really ruined. That is why I'm not sleeping with anyone until I'm married.
It's been a month and dad has forced us to follow the rules, and no one has even tried to break them.. Dad is still extremely mad and haven't accepted the idea if being a granpa when his son is only 17. Today Samantha is coming over to be introduced to the family.. Dad said that he won't force them into marriage, but they are together now..
"Hey" Samantha said lowering her gaze to the ground after looking at my parents, probably ashamed of what she and my brother have done.
"Hi" I interfered after my dad just stared coldly at her.. "Come in" mom said smiling weakly.
"So, how did your parents take the news?" Dad interrogated.
"Umm.. They um kicked me out." Her tears welled up in her green eyes but she blinked them away trying to stay strong. "I'm staying with my aunt until school is over" She looked to the ground.
"You're welcomed over anytime" Jade said beaming.. Jade is the only person happy about this whole thing.. She's always optimistic that everything's gonna be just fine. Dad gave her a warning stare but she ignored it.
"Anyways, have you thought of names yet? Or is it too early?"
"Um not yet"
"Well when it comes to it let me help. I'd call the baby Brad or Adam if a boy and Emma or Julie if a girl."
"Emma and Adam are nice" Samantha said smiling for the first time.. Thank God Jade is an optimist or else this whole meeting would be a disaster.
"Yeah I know." She said.
"What do you think? A girl or a boy?" Meg asked Steven who hasn't really got accustomed for the idea of having a child.
"It doesn't matter." He said passing his hand through his disheveled hair.
