Thomas POV

"Babe, you need to go out. I need to see you smile and hold my hand like we used to," Bella whispered in my ear, sending chills down my spine. She stroked my hand and weaves our fingers together. Any guy would go crazy, but I felt nothing.

Tommy, we should go get coffee, Autumn had said. For some reason, it kept bugging him. Coffee... Coffee...

It's now been 6 months since Autumn was taken. Her parents couldn't handle the loss of possibly two children, so when the police called off the search, they tended to Riley with the rest of their time.

I gave up looking. I didn't want to, but I couldn't look forever.

Okay, we can go to the little coffee shop on the corner, I had said, caving in to her craving for the hot drink.

"Tommy," Bella whispered.

"DON'T call me that," I replied, icy dripping from my tongue as I said it. She tensed up, clearly offended.

"Bella, I... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to snap. It's just, that's what she used to call me," I said, not being able to say her name.

"It's okay. I understand. I can imagine how hard it must be to have her taken from you after a traumatic experience," she replied, pushing his now shaggy hair behind my ears and tracing her cold fingers down my jawline. "I do think we should get out of the house, though,"

Coffee shop.

"Bella, let's go to the coffee shop," I replied, getting up and putting on a coat in 5 seconds time before walking out the door. She quickly adjusted to my hasty decision, and was right behind me on my trek to the little coffee shop on the corner.

***

I ordered Autumns usual, with her favorite strawberry pops. I was sipping at the coffee and starring at Bella as she ordered a hot chocolate. Something about her seemed... Off. Ever since we walked into the shop, she seemed nervous. She had me sit facing the window, away from everyone else in the shop. She told me to focus on her voice only, and no one else.

I found out why about 5 minutes later.

"Yes, I will be right back with that order, sir," a girls' voice said.

I know that voice.

"Would you like sugar with that?"

But it can't be... She's been missing for 6 months...

"Sounds perfect. I'll be right back with that coffee, sir,"

It is.

I turned around to look at the girl, to confirm my suspicion, but right as I tried, Bella jumped across the table. She pulled my coat off, then smiling sheepishly before gently stroking the furry hood.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I just thought there was a bug in your coat.. The fur is soft, you should wear this coat more often," she said quickly, her voice beginning to shake.

I stared at her for a minute before standing up. She stood up as well. I urned around to see a girl with a brown pixie-cut hairstyle, skinny as ever, and with pale skin.

It is her!

I began to walk over, but Bella grabbed my coat again and pulled me right up against her, kissing me hard. She started leading me to the door, but I pushed away. She held me tighter. I turned my fave away to look at the girl with a pixie-cut, and she turned at the commotion.

That's when she dropped the coffee she was carrying. Her mouth agape, she stared wordlessly. Then she covered her face and picked up the broken pieces of the white ceramic cup. She got up and scurried away to the nearest door and left.

It had to be her. It was, I know it. I know her face, no matter how skinny or pale it is.

She's had a scar across her neck, tracing from her chin to her ear. Before I could fully comprehend the shock of seeing her, Bella and i were already out the door.

"It was her!! BELLA, IT WAS HER! You have to let me go, you have to let me back in there!"

"Thomas, it was probably your mind playing tricks, you haven't been out to see people in a long time," she said, running her fingers through his hair again.

"No, you don't understand, it was-"

"Tommy, it wasn't! I saw the girl too, it wasn't her," she said quickly again.

"Don't call me Tommy!" I yelled at her, shooting daggers at her. I broke free of her grip and ran back in the coffee shop, and heading to the back door she went out of.

She wasn't there.

I asked all the employees where Autumn could've been, but they said they didn't have a worker named Autumn.

I asked for the pixie-cut girl, and they all agreed that they had no idea where she'd run off.

"She took the backdoor to the fire escape, she was probably headed to the nearest emergency car," a big, burly man said.

I tried to go out that way, but they restrained me. They grabbed my arms as I fought them, trying to get to the door.

Bella had then lead me to some police that had shown up, where I was then led back to my dreary house."
