Proulogue

The sky was bright and cloudy as well. he sat on the green grass of the meadow. watching the other children play. The raven haired boy was alone. Always alone. Most children ignored him because of his weird position when he sat. He looked back at the math book on the ground and continued to write.
"L!" A man called from behind. The boy turned around to see the man that found him and took him here,Watari.
On his right was a little girl with short brown hair,holding the mans hand. She didn't look shy nor weirded out by his strange position and his owl like eyes.
Instead, she smiled warmly and waved at him. "I found you a friend" watari told him. "Friend?" L asked tilting his head slightly to the left. Every time there were to be a new child brought to the orphanage,watari wouldn't bring him or her to him.
"This is Meiko, she's the same age as you and seems to have interest in knowledge as well so I thought that I could introduce her to you"
The girl giggled and let go of watari's hand and ran towards him. She let out a hand.
"Hello I'm meiko, nice to meet you L"
The boy looked at her hand then at her. He slowly reached out for her hand and shook it slightly.
He wondered how she could keep on smiling,how she could keep on laughing. She sat next to him with her legs crossed and peeked at his notebook.
"I think the reason you're having trouble is because you got this part wrong" Meiko pointed at a section of the notebook filled with calculations.
Realizing his mistake, L took the eraser beside him and rubbed it. He said a soft thank you still looking at the notebook.
"You're welcome" she said, smiling warmly. "Hey,why do you call yourself L?" She asks. L only shrugged. "Can I call myself M then?" She asks again laughing.
L only looked at her and nodded. "Hello M" he said, finally looking at her, slightly smiling. For once, he had someone to talk too.
"I hope we can be good friends" she said brushing her bangs out of her eyes.
He had a friend.
