chapter 4

"see? you're doing great!" she exclaimed lifting her arms in the air. it was 8pm, she had left the house at 7. how long was she going to spend time with him? probably for a very long time. she had felt like it was forever since she spent time with him like this. she just wanted him to explore the world for once. well that's what she told him when in the end it was just an inspiring way to get him out of the house. even though she just wanted to sit inside and read all day, avoiding the outside world because, ain't nobody got time for that when they're stuck in a fictional universe.

but at least she went out of the house and he... probably never did. she searched through her memories trying to remember when was the last time he had left the house. "how's that?" he asked placing his hands in his pockets,walking alongside with her. M smiled at him for a while then she held up a finger.

"well first off, you survived a whole car ride without sitting in your usual position." she held two fingers "secondly, you survived being in a car with me" she put up three fingers "third, you actually ate something that wasn't sweet,but spicy after i tricked you" he rolled his eyes at her. but she ignored, holding up four fingers. "lastly, you survived book shopping with me" she said holding up a plastic bag filled with 3 books.

so far, she's glad that he hasn't made any weird conversations with strangers yet. he almost did with the waitress a moment ago but she managed to save it. L may be a genius and all but sometimes she thought that maybe he should get some socializing lessons or something. she had a lot of plans for tonight. it wouldn't be a problem if they went home late since it was a friday anyway. but knowing L he'd probably still worked on the weekend.

he looked at her as they walked. she didn't notice because she was looking up at the decorative lights that were hung from building to building. he refused to believe the fact that he never noticed how beautiful she was. not that he didn't notice before. it was just that tonight.. tonight was a little different. her skin glowed in the moonlight and her eyes... they were green eyes that were just beautiful. he felt himself blushing and quickly looked to the front before she could look back.

she pulled her hood over her head and he could see a blue ring around her finger. after starring at it for a while he had remembered where she had gotten it from. "you still keep that thing?" he asked looking at her. at first the girl looked rather confused that she looked at the ring that she wore on her finger. "yeah i do" she said,smiling looking at the ring.

They didn't speak for the rest of the walk when M suddenly gasped as if she just remembered something. she quickly grabbed his hand and ran towards a different direction. she was ahead oh him and he was trailing her from behind. "where are we going?" he asked in his normal tone. "you'll see" she replied, looking at him.

she led him to a building that looked worn down and unused for years. he wanted to ask her what they were doing there but he didn't. instead, he followed her inside the dark building. it wasn't completely dark thanks to the windows and the moonlight that shone bright that night. she walked to a pillar on the right and held a lever. she looked a him, then pulled the lever. all the lights in the building were on. all this while he was in an ice skating rink.

she walked to a shelf on the right and held out two pairs of ice skating shoes. was she asking him to skate? it appeared so because she handed him one of the ice skating shoes and sat down on a bench putting the shoes on. he did the same. she told him that this is where she would go once a week. she stood up and so did he. "hopefully you still remember how to skate, i don't wanna teach you all over again" she teased taking out a box. she took two pairs of gloves and threw the black ones to L. after catching it he put them on. She put on purple ones and entered the rink,skating in a normal pace.
