The Secrets (Hinata X Sasuke)

Chapter 2 : Helping the Villagers

It was the next day.

The village was all destroyed from the horrible fight yesterday. I'm still so surprised that it all only happened in one day. It was too quick.

We, the ninjas, have to help the villagers build back the village and get it back on it's feet again. It's a pain but it's okay because the villagers deserve it. They had to go through so much.

"Stupid Orochimaru..." I say out loud as I finished getting ready for the day.

I walk out of my house, locking the door behind me. As I turned around, I see Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura. Naruto noticed me fairly quickly and waved for me to come over.

"Naruto. Sasuke. Sakura. Good morning." I say, slightly quiet. They nod. "Good morning." Saying so in unicen. "Will you three be helping the villagers build?" I asked, trying to make conversation. Naruto nodded abruptly with a huge grin. "OF COURSE!" I flinch at his loudness but keep on listening. "Of course we'll be helping! The villagers could never rebuild this village all by themselves." Naruto added. "You're right." I say forcing a cute smile.

I look over at Sasuke who was staring at me and glance at Sakura who was so very annoyed at my presence (which is kind of funny)...

I kind of glare at Sakura. I really wanna know if she actually has a thing for Uchiha.

I get a bit closer to Sakura. "Hey... can I talk to you for a sec?" I ask her. Sakura nodded. "Okay."

Sakura and I walked a little further, leaving the guys a little ways behind. She looked over at me as we walked and spoke, "what is it you want to talk about?" I look over at her and shrug. "I was wondering if you have a thing for Sasuke?" Sakura turned beat red and turned away. Glancing back at Sasuke making sure he didn't hear me, she looked back at me and nodded slightly. "I like him..." she said quietly. I look at her seriously. "You'll definitely get in my way." She looked at me with shocked eyes. "W- Whaa- whatt? You like him?!" She says over reacting. I sigh and look back at Sasuke and Naruto who were now staring at us. "Don't get your hopes up... I'm not interested in him in that way. It's non of your business. Just keep dreaming that you'll get with him cause it'll never happen." I say right before the guys catch up to us.

I smile at them both. Before leaving, I bow my head slightly out of politeness.

As I got further away, enough that I couldn't see them anymore, I kept thinking of what I could do to get Sasuke to accept me and get him alone. The more I thought the more I was thinking about how hard it'll be to get rid of Sakura. She's so attached!

"I knew she'd be a pain... it'll be really troublesome."

Many hours pass with me helping the villagers and ninjas build on the damaged houses.

Because everyone is helping, those many hours turned into a half cleaned up village from picking up trash and loose wood. But now it's evening so everyone went home and I'm here still cleaning (not that I'm complaining or anything). I just want this to go by faster so I can get to my mission quicker.

Sighing at that, someone starts talking to me from behind. "It's going by pretty quickly, isn't it Hinata?" I stop picking up trash and look over my shoulder.

"Oh Neji..." i say turning to face hin. "Yeah, it's cleaning up pretty well." I say with a forced smile. He nodded. "Because everyone is so helpful the cleaning up and rebuilding will go by real quickly." He takes my trash bag and starts to help me. I nod at his words. "Yeah... it is going pretty quickly." Neji looked over at me. "I've noticed you've been working all day. It's getting pretty dark you know..." he stopped and said no more. I looked at him with a frown.

I hate it when he doesn't finish what he wants to say. 

Sighing before speaking, I nod. "I'll leave... I should get rest so I can keep on helping tomorrow. You should too, Neji." Neji showed a small smile and nodded. "Good night."

Before leaving, I toss the trash bag in the huge trash bin and start heading back home. While heading back home I started to think about the mission again.

"I think I'll start it after this rebuilding and cleaning is over." I said nodding to myself right before getting stopped by someone's voice. "Hinata!" It said. I looked around trying to find it. There was someone behind me. I focused my vision since it was so dark.

Is that Sasuke? Why is he calling me of all people?
