The Secrets (Hinata X Sasuke)

Chapter 6

The man started to explain the real mission.

"We lied about the mission because we assumed that you higher up ninja's wouldn't care about our situation unless it had to do with something big." He paused then went on. "We have a problem with bandits and ninjas that have been payed to kill us off or take us in as prisoners..." he stopped and looked at all of us.

I rose an eyebrow, remembering the villagers acting as if they were happy and as normal as can be. I finally break the short silence and ask, "then why are the villagers so calm and acting as if nothing is going on?" The man looked over at me. "Your name, child?" He gave a faint smile. "Hinata. Hinata Hyuga." I say, nodding my head in respect. "Well Hinata, the villagers do not know yet. So far, there's been kidnappings and one murder. They'll panic and try defending themselves. I do not want more lives taken." He says. I titled my head. "How do you know that they're payed ninjas and bandits?" The man took out a folded piece of paper in his pants pocket and gave it to me. I looked over at Kakashi and he nodded. Letting me open the folded piece of paper.

I open it and read aloud,

"Dear Villagers,
We're here to take over your Village Hidden in the Mist and make you our prisoners.
If you give us problems, we have ninja's who'll kill more of you, kidnap you, and use your women as their slaves.
We ask the head of this village to come meet in 3 days time, at midnight to give us your answer.
Will you hand us your village or force your people to be killed, one by one?

,Bandits"

They must be stupid... Signing there letter with "Bandits". I giggle at their stupidity. The man looked at Kakashi and the others. "This note was left behind, on top of the dead body that I had come across when going out to fish."

Kakashi looked down at his hands and shook his head slightly. "You could have told the truth... You lied to the Hokage. And dealing with who knows what, we could all get killed." Kakashi takes a breath. "I understand that you don't want to risk the lives of your fellow villagers but you are also risking the lives of our fellow Ninja's. How can we fight unknown characters? Even if they claim to be bandits. We still have no background story about them. They're unknown."

The man's eyes sadden. His face formed in disappointment and sadness. "I'm sorry... I was only thinking of myself and my people. I'm disappointed at myself for being so selfish."

Kakashi sighed. The others said nothing but stared at each other, dumb founded.

I don't like how this is going...

I slap my hands on the table. Breaking the silence through out the room, making an echoing sound. "I, Hinata Hyuga, will help this poor man. I can't stand the look on his face. Aren't we ninja's supposed to help others no matter what the cost is? Right?" I looked at all four of them.

Sasuke nodded. "Hinata's right... I'll help." He nodded my way and to the old man. I gave him a smile, feeling my heart skip a beat. I patted my chest and looked over at Kakashi Sensai. He looked over at me and looked over at Naruto and Sakura. "We'll help too!" They both say in unison.

Kakashi sighed and nodded with a smile. "We'll stay and help you. Lord Hokage wouldn't want us to leave you behind. Just tell the truth next time."

The four, Sasuke, Sakura, Naruto, and I smiled at eachother.

I'm not giving up on my true mission just yet.

I look over at Sasuke and smile. Sasuke gave a faint/gentle smile back which made my body heat up and my heart skip another beat. This is weird. I clinch my chest. That gental smile. I look away from him, changing my gaze back to the old man. The old man was so happy that tears were falling down his cheeks.

Naruto walked to the man and smacked his back, hard. "Don't cry old man! We'll get rid of those nasty hags in no time!" He smiled and laughed out loud. "Naruto you're too much." Sakura says with a smile, making the old man laugh.

It was now midnight and the 5 of us were on a look out.

After all that talking we did earlier, the old man told us everything. When the kidnapping had started and when the first kill took place. He even told us what he's been telling the villagers for an excuse.

The activities were happening when everyone was sound asleep. It also seem like the man was hinting that the kidnappings were specific people. He had added that all the wealthy and rich people in the village were being targeted more then the poor.

With this information, we decided to spread out amongst the rich and wealthy part of the village and watch for anything suspicious.

"See anything, Sasuke. Naruto?" I say through my ear piece. I see them far in the distance up on a tree. They looked my way and answered. "Not yet." Sasuke whispered into the mic which gave me a slight shiver. His voice! I blush slightly and cover my cheeks with my scarf.

I'm not trying to get attached to him, am I? This is too early... I mean... no. I can't get attached to him at all! I notice Kakashi Sensai looking over at me, since we were partnered up together, including Sakura. "What?" I let go of my scarf. He just smiled and shrugged. "I didnt say anything." He says in a teasing manner. I click my teeth and sighed, saying nothing back to him.

He totally saw me blushing... I look towards Sakura making sure she didn't see me. Good thing Sakura wasn't paying attention. I smile.

YAY! FINALLY got chapter 6 done. Sorry if it's short but I've been busy lately. I hope you all are enjoying my HinaSasu!
