chapter five:

Emily's pov:

The funeral was all set up. I looked at my mom in her casket. Tears stung my eyes and ran down my cheeks. I felt an arm wrap around me i turned around and it was Caleb.

" it's going to be alright i promise." he said wiping my tears away with his sleeve, I peeked a smile at him.  I held my moms hand it was cold and I looked at her I missed her. I started balling. Tears pouring out of my eyes.
Caleb noticed and grabbed me and held me close and stroked my hair.

" Caleb.... please.... don't.. let.. me go." I stammered trying to talk over crying.
" i will never let you go I will be here every step of the way." He hugged me tightly it felt so good.

* a few hours later after family arrives*

the slideshow of pictures and videos turned off as the preacher walked to the podium. Caleb sat next to me I leaned in close to him and he grabbed my hand and held it tight.

"we are gathered here today to celebrate Allison smiths life."
as soon as the preacher said those very words tears started rolling out of my eyes and I couldn't get them to stop.

After a while the preacher had us say our words. It was now my turn as the preacher asked if I could come up. I felt a knot in my throat and looked at Caleb. He wiped away the tears on my cheeks and whispered.
" it's okay your gonna do great" I hugged him and released his hand from mine.

I stood looking at all the faces full of tears as tears were rolling down my cheeks.

" my mom was a very important thing in my life, after dad left mom you did everything for me. I never thought this day would come...." i paused to take a deep breath to hold the tears back. " i never knew it would happen so soon. My mom was the most loving, sweetest, funny, kind lady. Never take advantage of your parents because you never know how much longer you will have with them. They are a big part of your life.... and that part of my life.. is gone." I said I starting crying very hard and so did everyone else. " all I have to say now is mom I miss you I love you no matter what and thank you for everything you did for me. " I said choking up on tears. " thank you all." I said walking back to my seat.

" you did great." He said smiling as tears filled his eyes.
" thanks Caleb, but can I hold your hand please?"
" of course." He whispered holding my hand tightly.

Finally after everyone was done saying their words we said a prayer. Now we were all walking to the cemetery close by. Me and Caleb were still holding hands. I glanced at him and smiled. He did the same.

We arrived at the cemetery and they started to bury her. I cried and Caleb pulled me close again. His touch was all I needed to know it was gonna be okay. They buried mom and we all prayed for her and dad as now they were buried next to each other.

* time skip*

Calebs pov:
we got home at about 6:45 that evening. Me and Emily walked downstairs she opened her closet and got a sports bra and some leggings. She had a walk in closet so she went in and changed. I put on a t shirt and some sweatpants. I sat on my bed waiting for her to come out.

She came out a few minutes later and she must have been crying again because her face was red. I walked over to her and wrapped my arms around her and pulled her close as close as I could.

" Caleb I need you." She whispered
" i promise I will never leave you." I whispered back
" good because I need you."

Then Annie walked over to us. Emily quickly wiped away her tears.

" her Emily do you want to come do some gymnastics with me and Hayley?"
She looked at me. I could tell she wanted to go with Annie but she wanted to be with me.
" go ahead have fun." I said smiling
She smiled and went with Annie. It wasn't long after until we ate dinner.

It was pretty quiet during dinner. Then me and Emily went downstairs. Hayley and Annie were getting ready for bed because it was 11:00.

Me and Emily laid in bed and I looked at her and noticed some tears on her cheeks. I wiped them off and held her so close i could feel her breathing.

" I'm never letting you go." I whispered.

Then she kissed my cheek and we fell asleep.
