"Here." I said to Rose as I handed her a grocery store bought apple. We were back at my place as we sat in the living room with only the light turned on as our only element of light. Rain started to pour down before us and before I knew it, I was emerged in day dreams and the showers of rai that would make me emerge into a being that no one else has ever encountered before in their life. Rain was life. It was the only sound I could fall asleep if I managed to read the whole thesaurus in 1 hour, which was quite a fellow accomplishment if I do say so myself.

I was crazy. And I admitted it in my mind just for the sake of my well being.

"I don't eat store bought apples." Rose stated, pushing my hand away, smiling grimly.

"I see." I murmured, sitting beside her next to a cushion that was placed between us. over the past two months of complete and utter destruction and raw emotions that flew ina nd out of my head, I was beginnign to grow more and more close to Rose with each passing day. she was the only person who got who I was really was. No one with an IQ of a bag of apples and frizzy hair wouldn't be able to understand how I function in this messed up world we live in today.

This world was so rotten, I didn't understand why it was *my* world.

Rose eyed me for a second as I placed the apple on mother's wooden coffee table. her face against the gloomy light and gastly shadows of the lamp made her face heavenly with soft shadows contouring her nose, cheeks and jaw area. she had beauty like an innocent child that just stole the last cookie and swore not to tell anyone until it was dinner time. That beauty wasn't common in our small little town. In fact we had commercial beauty, a beauty that was bought into society and had been palstered over teenage girls over the past few years.

Having Rose in this town and being here beside me was a miracle I may cherish for the rest of my well being.

"Logan?" My eyes switched to her.

"Yeah?" I asked, hoping she didn't catch my thoughts before they surfaced to my face.

"I'm scared of what may happen soon..." She said, her voice trembling a bit, she chewed on her lips gently as she leaned back, trying to relax but to no prevail. She was way too tense to be calm and serene. What was I talking about? Rose wasn't serene she was compelte chaos that clouded me with desperation of answers and proof that other people with her power existed.

"Because of the attacks? Yeah me too, I guess." I would admitt, I was scared of what would happen when all of this suffering will be gone. Would Rose move away from us to settle down with another crown of mindless students just ready of what would happen when someone would tick her off at the slightest. I wondered for a moment if I would ever die if I ever met the person who was responsible for all those killings that were happening upon our streets. Aria may have already told them about me knowing too much about Rose's gift to harm people. And that my deductive skills and thoughtful evidence may very well be the cause of my death.

"You're thinking about something...I know it." she said with triumph. She leaned in close to study my features, "Logan...." she gapsed at what I was thinking and looked down with shame, "You think you're going to--" she paused and looked up at me, "die?"

I nodded as she blinked.

"Promise me you won't die when this is over. Promise me!" she screamed, her now gloosy eyes were taking me by force as I was pulled in to say yes.

And with that, we started to lean in even more, feeling the intensity of our newfound kiss. As the thunder and lightening overcomed us with gratitude and passion, the sound of heavy rain just made me feel that closer to her as her arms were draped around my neck.

The world that I've onced lived in was now stepping out of my zone, making me evolve into something I should've been ages ago.

Aria's pov

His foot probed my insides as I cringed with anger and pain. Bruises began to bloom immediately after his frustrations with me a few moments ago. I winced as I propped my arm up as it buckled under my trembling weight. I felt pain scortch against the side of my head as drops of blood began to appear on the cold gray concrete of the abandoned warehouse.

"You were ordered to get rid of him!" His voice bounced loudly as his foot collided with my hip. I hissed as my breaths were ragged and worn out.

I guess I had a tough day.

"You useless pathetic pawn!!!" He screeched. My nostrils flared as anger seeped into my veins gradually. I was getting furious of his abuse towards me. it wasn't my fault that I couldn't that ignorant smart ass that Rose calls her "friend". She was too quick for my decisions and instead attacked me. As always, Rose Shaw was always one step ahead of me.

"She attacked me before I had the chance to kill him!" I yelled. My voice was shrill and shaken.

"She..what?" he asked carelesly. I sat up and took a glimpse at my bruise that was beginngin to form on my forearm. I stared at him with bored eyes as I leaned against the steel wall. my bare back pressed up against the stainless steel walls made me shiver from ear to ear. I shrivled up in the corner beofre he spoke up.

"She was stabbing me with unforgiveable pain, Ryder..." I took a breath as I shivered from the cold, "She can't be trusted. Why do you want to---"

"No question, her gift is more powerful and raw than I thought." he took off his trench coat as he threw over my bare skin. I immediately lurched at it with warmth as I hugged every crevace and pocket this jacket had to offer. After he realized that I didn't do my fulfilled order, he stripped me naked and brutally abused me with every last thought he had shoved in every nook and cranny.

"Why do you trust her, Sam?" I whispered, trying to gain balance.

"Because!" He bellowed. I jerked to the side. his features were menacing and cynical like everyone in this god damn town.

he was my boss, he was...

Sam Ryder.

He continued, "Without her, our lives are useless. Plus, my guilty pleasures are wearing thin from all these pointless overkill attacks. my patience is wearing thin, Aria. I've personally selected you to be my pawn, my soldier, "he smiled maniacly from ear to ear, his bony cheeks shifted closer to his mesmerizing eyes, " my pet...my assistant. i can't afford to lose another opportunity to bring that low-life down..." he grinned.

"I need him dead." his breath worn out.

"But Sam, This is all getting too complicated. Where Logan goes, Rose is there! There attached.."

"You need to reel them in, Aria. I picked you to do this job since I know you have the strength and endurance to witstand the horror that we've all been through. I need you, Aria. To do this for me..."

I nodded. My hands formed into two clenched fists.

I must have him dead.

I slid my bruised arms into Sam's jacket as I stood up, trying to regain my concsious and my balance. Sam left with nothing but a lighter and his gift that had been sent down to us with no reason whatsoever. I didn't understand. Why were we chosen to consum this gift to make it ours? This "gift" only caused people griekf and pain. No happiness weaved into our contract that will stick by our minds forever. My sunken face left an etch across my heart that yearned for the warm feeling that I've been aching to reach...but it was too far for my fingers to taste the feeling of freedom.

Was I stuck to become like...this?

The guilt building up in the bit of my heart sent a wedge between my mind and soul. I could no longer experience voices in my head that would screech at me for doing something bad. I've done all of these killigns and the only thing I got in return is a garden of blossoming bruises that were etched across my arms and stomach. Sam Ryder was my light that I had to run across a blazing field to get. If I didnt succeed, I would enhancing the chances of me being killed.

I've heard that people that contain this gift die miserably when their time on earth would expire.

I've abused my gift far too much. Killing someone just by taking the most simplest glance was my gift? I closed my eyes as the memories seemed to scream at me like I was in trouble for doing something fairly naughty.
