Mackenzie's POV

I'm surprised walking up these two flights of stairs in school for the past three years hasn't killed me by now. It was something I tried to keep my mind to.

I was just about to walk to my locker when Jack cornered me.

"Have you seen Arabella?" he whispered looking a bit scared.

"She left before me so I wouldn't know" I tried backing away but Jack took another step towards me.

"Is she ignoring me?"

"I don't know Jack, why don't you go ask her" I smirked.

"Wait did you tell her!?" he raised his voice so a few other students looked in our direction.

"No Jack but I can assure you that I will soon"

From behind me I could here soft footsteps approaching. When I looked away from Jacks face Sammy stood in between the two of us.

"Are we still up for lunch?" Sammy asked Jack without even looking at me.

"Yeah sure"

"So I will see you sixth then" Sammy said and walked off in the opposite direction.

Jack paused in confusion.

"Can I go now or are you going to ask a thousand more questions?" I made my way around Jack but I didn't make it far enough. Jacks big grip strangled my arm and made me stop in my spot.

"What's up with you and Sammy?"

"Thanks to your little ways, Sammy and I aren't talking right now"

Jack let go of my arm and I recollected myself long enough to walk to my locker without being stopped. Little did Jack know that he had passed Arabella about six times in the hall. It was the new hair Arabella had that made him not look at her. But Jack seemed to miss a lot of things when he acted like he does.

Jacks POV

The way Mackenzie had left the conversation had been on my mind all through first, second and third period. It was too bad I didn't have classes with Sammy in the morning until fifth. Also on my mind was the fact that I hadn't seen Arabella all day.

I quickly ran to my locker between third and fourth to grab my gym bag and then jogged my way down to the locker room.

In a matter of five minutes I had changed into my basketball shorts and my white shirt and my Nike sneakers. I ran up and found Coach Michael standing by the double doors to the gym with his attendance list.

"Mr. Gilinksy nice to see you finally changing" he gave me a friendly smile.

"Sorry coach, I've been slacking lately"

"That's an extra lap around the field for you" he squinted his eyes to look for my name on his roster.

"Okay and by any chance have you seen Arabella?"

"Yes she is inside"

"Really? I didn't see her come in"
