Tuesday(New Years Eve)
Arabella's POVI was running around with clips and random bobby pins in my hair while trying to clean up at the same time.
"Arabella, Jack is here" my mom yelled from downstairs and when I looked out the upstairs window his car was parked in the driveway. Right now was not a good time for fun. I seriously needed to get everything done before people started to show up which would be in an hour. New Years at our house was a big thing. We typically went all out and everyone came from all over the neighborhood.
"Bella can you help me move the couch?" Mackenzie asked as I walked down the staircase. We both looked at each other and giggled when we realized we both had our hair done the same way. I went over to push the couch with her help and from behind Jack wrapped his arms around my chest and kissed my cheek.
"Hey beautiful" he squeezed me tighter but I was trying to pay attention to the couch being lifted off the ground.
"Mac do we need more chairs? I can go get some in the garage" I put my hands on my hips.
"Yeah we actually need some more"
I walked outside in my slippers and my sweater and ran to the garage because it was freezing.
"Nice to see you don't care that I'm here" Jack leaned on the garage door. I had totally forgotten he was here.
"I'm sorry I'm just really busy" I bit my lip ad grabbed one of the chairs.
"Can I help or am I invisible?" he got snappy.
"Jack don't be like that. I told you I'm busy. If you want you can help me bring these chairs in" I handed him a few chairs and walked into the house.
"Stay away from Jack," I whispered to Mackenzie "he's grouchy"
"I heard that Ara" Jack chuckled behind me and I just rolled my eyes.
"It must be fun not talking to your boyfriend for a while" I said to Mackenzie but then I regretted saying that.
"I didn't mean that" I put the chair down and opened it.
"Don't worry about it" she said and walked upstairs. I felt really bad so I followed her upstairs and into her room where she was sitting on her bed on her phone.
"You guys haven't talked things out?" I sat down next to her.
"We agreed that for now it's better to just you know...stay away"
"So this time its for real then I guess"
"I don't know" she crossed her legs on the bed.
"Mackenzie things between you and Sammy worked well you know that?"
"No, things between us are toxic. Somehow we always wind up arguing"
"Mac that's bullshit and you know it. I don't mean to curse but you and Sammy always work things out. Whenever you fight you work things out and.. ugh... Mackenzie, Sammy loves you damn it. If only you knew the way he looked at you. When I found out he had whatever with Hanna I wanted to kill him with my bare hands but these past few days I've realized that you two being away from each other is toxic"
"Thanks for the advice Bella but things are better now" she said and left the room. Things just weren't falling right and this was just the last way I wanted to end this year.
I walked back downstairs and saw that Sammy had showed up with his family. Mackenzie was over greeting his parents while Sammy was standing behind them like a lost puppy. I went to the downstairs bathroom and finished doing my hair and put on my long sleeve back crop top and my black skirt. I went to walk out the bathroom but I bumped into Sammy in the process.
