Still in the Flashback:
Saturday
Mackenzie's POVArabella had been bragging about this party for days. And when I mean bragging, I mean full on, nonstop bragging.
She was just lucky I had nothing to do today and I was pretty exhausted from my first week of school and needed a break.
"Okay so how does this look?" Arabella stepped out of the bathroom wearing black jeans, a white crop top and black vans.
"That looks cute" I said and got up from her bed. I grabbed the outfit I had planned on wearing and changed in the walk in closet.
"So quick question, which is the boy your infatuated with?" I asked as I slipped my white v-neck shirt over my shoulders.
"It's the kid from the fight Kenzie. Do you not pay attention to anything?"
"Bella, you literally fall for every boy you see so yes I do pay attention"
"True that"
I quickly slipped up my blue jeans and tied my flannel around my waist.
"Do I look fine?" I spun around a few times so Arabella could examine me.
"Yes but I need you to do my hair before we go"
"Curls or straight?"
"I think curls"
I grabbed my makeup and my curler from the bottom cabinet in the bathroom. Luckily for Arabella, who hated doing her own hair, I was pretty skilled.
In a matter of twenty minutes I curled the ends of her hair and she had touched up my face with some makeup before doing hers.
"Okay let's go before we miss the action" Arabella rushed me while I was finishing up my mascara.
We grabbed our bags and our phones and hurried out to my aunts car.
Arabella always took advantage of me being the older one to do everything. But I loved her too much to fight her about it and plus if that meant I got to have her locked to my hip the whole time I knew I was sure in for a hell of a fun ride.
I stood quiet for most of the car ride. Arabella on the other hand was singing to every song that played on the radio. I was used to it though. Everywhere we went she always sang like a high pitched bird, don't get me wrong she could hit some notes but not all.
We pulled up to a quite house on the corner of the block a few houses down from where the party was.
"You guys remember the rules" my aunt looked at Arabella and then at me "call me when you need me to pick you up"
"Thank you Tia" I reached over the seat and kissed her cheek before following Arabella out of the car.
("Tia" means aunt in Spanish btw)
We watched as my aunt drove off and out of sight. That's when we started walking towards the house hosting the party.
"Kenz can you do me a favor?" Arabella turned her face to me.
"What is it?"
"Loosen up a little tonight"
"Bella, you know that's going to be hard for me considering what happened in the last party I went to"
"I know Mackenzie but that was a few months ago and it's over. We moved! This is ninth grade!"
"I'll try but no promises"
