That same night
Mackenzie's POV

I looked up from staring down at the floor and saw Sammy coming out of his car.

"Nate called me, he said you were worried about Arabella" he said in such a quiet voice. I looked at him but said nothing.

"I'm sorry Mackenzie but she's not in there" Nate said scratching his head.

I puffed out air and felt a tear about to roll down my eye. I stood up straight and then that's when the tears rolled down my face. I didn't notice what was going on until I felt Sammy's warm arms wrap around my body. As much as I was upset at him, I needed him to hold me tight.

"Take deep breathes" Sammy whispered into my ear.

"I can't loose anyone else Sammy" I cried into his shoulder. I clenched a fist onto his shirt as I cried more.

"Calm down and breathe. I'm right here" he whispered again.

I felt like I had totally blacked out because when I looked up Nates car was gone. When I focused myself I was still in Sammy's arms next to his car.

"Sammy?" I looked up from his shirt and into his eyes.

"Come on, your too pretty to cry" he chuckled and wiped the tears from my face. I giggled and he pulled me into another deep hug.

"I hate seeing you like this, you know that" Sammy spoke in his caressing voice and then kissed my temple.

"I know I'm sorry" I lifted my head from his chest and wiped the rest of the tears away.

"Come on, let's get you out of here" he led me to his car just as a bunch of drunk kids stumbled onto the driveway.

I mostly dozed off in Sammy's car until I heard him come to a complete stop.

From the car I could see my house. I just sat there and stared at it like it was a foreign place.

"Can we go somewhere else?" I asked Sammy while I still stared at the dark house.

"Yeah, sure" he pulled out of the driveway.

I hadn't noticed we were in front of Sammy's house until I heard his car door open.

I dragged myself into his house and into his perfect cologne smelling room. I sat on his bed while he hung up his jacket in his closet and then he rejoined me.

I crossed my leg onto his bed as he stared at me. It honestly wasn't awkward because we were so used to looking at each other.

"You want to talk about it?" Sammy crossed his legs on the bed in front of me.

"Not really" I said and my emotions got to me again. A bunch of tears ran down my face as I covered my eyes in my hands.

Sammy again wrapped his arms around me and squeezed tightly.

"Sammy, your not the only one hiding things" I said while I weeped into my hand.

"Calm down" he rubbed my back.

"I'm so sorry, Sammy"

I was so lost in my own mind that I had no idea what I was even saying.

"Hey look at me, you can tell me anything you know that" Sammy tilted my head so I was looking in his eyes.

I took deep breathes like Sammy had told me to do. I loved the way Sammy let me take my time with things like this.

"The summer before freshman year, I was at a party with my older sister and she took some drugs"

"What happened?"

"We got into a car accident on the way home and she didn't make it" a thousand more tears filled my eyes. I never told anyone, not even Sammy because I always told myself it was something in the past.

"I'm sorry Mac" Sammy grabbed my hand and clenched onto it.

"That's why I moved here with Arabella, for a new beginning"

"I'm sure you made the right decision"

"Sammy, I'm so sorry"

"Why are you apologizing" he squeezed my hand harder.

"I was upset at you for not telling me about Jack and it's not fair that I didn't tell you about this"

"Hey, I don't care what happens, okay, I love you Mackenzie"
