Kendall POV

I walked out of Katelyn's art studio. I was surprised she had an art studio. In didn't think she had it in her. Anyway, I have a big problem though. My father was looking to buy out this art studio and the deal is pending with the city. If my father has the right amount of money, then he gets it. I sighed, I have to stop that deal somehow because Katelyn won't help me talk to my father. He hates me now, he says I've gone soft and honestly, I agree with him.

After Katelyn and I divorced, I've became...nicer. I don't know why I have, it just sort of came natural. I didn't think I can be a nice person, but the people I meet now always say how nice I am. Katelyn would always call me a dick and my father loved the old me, the mean me. I honestly don't know how I feel about the whole nice thing, I kind of don't like it, but why am I so angry all the time anyway? I shook the thoughts out of my head and I walked to my car.

From my car, I saw Katelyn cleaning up from her event. She was doing well for herself. She's all put together and I'm just a mess. I was never put together anyway my entire life. I can't find what I love or what I like to do. It's just too hard for me to think about myself. I know the expensive suits I like to wear and all the expensive things I like, but emotionally, I can't find myself at all. I put my gear in reverse and backed up. I drove to my penthouse contemplating on what I should do to stop this deal. I got it!

I'll offer a much, much higher price than my father. I'll do anything to have Katelyn keep her art studio. See this is what I'm talking about!

This niceness, what is going on with me? I'm scared, I don't even know who I am anymore, all I know is the mean, selfish and snappy Kendall. Not this softie. When I got up to the penthouse, I took my coat off and began calling my lawyers. "Could you guys come over, we need to have a meeting." I hung up the phone and waited for them to come. Within a few minutes they were here. Yeah, they were fast people.

I buzzed them in and they came up the elevator. "Well hello Mr. Schmidt." I shook all of their hands. "Hello gentlemen, how are you guys today?" They smiled and nodded. "Good." We sat down in the living room.

"So what's the problem, Mr. Schmidt?" I sighed. "The art studio is being bou.ght by my father on High Street, I want that studio. Do I just offer a higher amount of money, what do you I do?" One of my lawyers said, "Yes, exactly what you should do. Your father is offering $5 million dollars." Well, it wasn't as much as I thought it would be. "I'm offering 10 million then." They nodded. "Ok, how about tomorrow, we call city council and tell them your offer." I nodded, "Sounds like a plan." They said their goodbyes and left the penthouse.

I sighed. This was going to be hard going up against my father. Really hard, I don't know what will happen if he offers a much higher price than his original offer. I sat down and decided to watch some TV.

A little later, my phone rang. "Hello."

"Kendall." It was Katelyn, I sat up a bit and turned the TV down. "Yeah, what's up?" She sounded like she was crying. "Katelyn what's wrong?" She continued crying. "Katelyn I can't help you unless you tell me what's wrong Katelyn?" Did she find out about the deal? She probably did. "S-Someone's t-t-trying t-to t-take the s-studio." Yep, she did.

"Really? That's crazy, I can help you Katelyn, just wait a little longer and I'm sure everything will turn out just fine." She sniffled, "How do y-you know?" I didn't want to tell her yet, I wanted it to be a surprise, and I didn't want to get her hopes up. "I know it will Katelyn." She went quiet. "You wanna do something to get your mind off of this mess?" She sniffled again.

"S-sure." I chuckled, "Ok, then I'm coming to pick you up." She sniffled, "Ok." I nodded, "Ok, I'm coming now." She blew her nose, "Ok." I got up and got my keys. "Ok, I'm going to hang up now." She sighed, "Ok, b-bye." I got off the elevator. "Bye." I got in my car and drove to her house.

I pulled up to her house and went to the door. Before I could knock, Holden opened the door. "Hello. Kendall." I smiled, "Hi Holden." He glared at me. I think he's still mad about how the divorce went. He invited me in and Katelyn came down. "Thanks for taking me out Kendall." I hugged her, "You're welcome."

Maybe Katelyn and I could work out as friends.

Hey guys! What did you think? Let me know. Until Next Time.
