Katelyn POV

I watched Kendall make calls all day. He was done with his father. Hey, I would be too if he did something so serious like this. He was leaving tomorrow because his friend Darren was coming, so he could get his money. I sighed. I got to be honest, I don't like seeing him like this. When ever Kaylie came around she always cheered him up, so that was good.

I walked over to him and laid my hand on his right shoulder. "Kendall, I think you should take a little break." He ended his phone call and looked down at me. He sighed, "No, I cannot do that. Nope this will end." I nodded, "And it will you just need to relax, you've been at this all day and I'm positive Kaylie wants to spend time with you."

"I guess I could put the phone down for a while. I can take a break until my hacker buddy calls me back and tells me his findings." He walked down to the basement where Holden and Kaylie were playing. I scratched my head. "What to do, what to do?" An idea popped in my head.

"I could go watch the studio." I walked down to the basement and saw Holden and Kendall talking. Kaylie was on the ground playing with a toy she brought. I walked in the room and turned on the cameras. Kendall is going to get me because this is the first time I looked at my cameras since I got them two weeks ago. Whoops.

I doubt there is anything going on though, my staff isn't very exciting, but they are all nice and work together just fine. I looked at the monitors and the different rooms and outside the building. Everything is going smoothly. I see Cody swapping out paintings and putting up new ones.

Everything seems normal. I sat there for ten minutes and something caught my eye. I looked to the monitor that showed the back of the building and this black van backed up by the back door. I watched closely.

It was Cody, loading new paintings that I literally made three days ago. I put my hand over my mouth. Those paintings were worth more than any of my other paintings and I can't just let my living slip away. I gasp and heard the door open. I turned around and saw Kendall.

"So how do you like it, is it working for you?" I looked at him for a few seconds and nodded. He furrowed his eyebrows, "What's wrong?" I looked back up at the monitor and saw them still loading paintings. He looked where I was looking and then walked over. "Are they taking your paintings?" I nodded slowly. He shook his head.

"What am I going to do?" He thought and looked back up at the camera. "I put something in the camera control room next to your office, uh trackers! Yeah they stick on things, ask one of your staff members to put it on really fast?" I tried to think as quickly as I could. Then someone popped in my mind. My janitor I can always trust him to do something fast.

I picked up my phone and called his number. "Hello Katelyn." Relief washed over me that he answered. "Hey um, I need you to do something really quick for me." I looked up at the monitor to see Cody talking to the guy in the van. "I need you to go in the room next to my office, shut it and you should see a tracker." Kendall looked at me. "With a blinking red light, right in front of the monitors."

"What's it look like?" I heard him walking. "It has a blinking red light on it and it's rights in front of the monitors." I heard a door open. "Alright I got it." I saw Cody walk into another room on another monitor. The guy in the van got back into the van. "Ok the guy got back into the van and Cody is in another room just stay low so the guy in the van doesn't see you in the rear view mirror."

"I got it."

"Thank you so much." I hung up and looked at the monitor. There he was, crouching, putting the tracker underneath the car and then walked back into the door. He ran back to the janitor's closet and began working again. "Why did you buy trackers?" He shrugged, "Darren threw them in for free." I nodded.

I'll be having a long talk with Cody. I got up. "I need to confront Cody." Kendall walked behind me. "Let me go with you." I shrugged, "Ok." He pulled up his phone. "Ok, the van stopped at a location. I'll call the police to get your things back." I nodded. "Thank you."

We walked to Kendall's car and went straight to the studio. "Yes, thank you. Katelyn is there any proof it's yours."

"My signature is in pure black on the front and back of the paintings, it should just say Katelyn." He told the police and they identified the signature. "Thank you, please bring the back to the art studio. Thanks again." He hung up the phone. "They arrested the guy in the van and they're on their way to arrest Cody so let's go see what he has to say."

I opened the car and walked into the studio. I was beyond pissed, I thought I could trust my staff. How long has he been doing this? These paintings are what I live off of. He just takes my money away from me like that. I sighed and walked hard through the studio and saw Cody. Kendall came up behind me as I slowed down.

"Cody, can I talk to you?" He looked at me confused. "Uh sure." I led him to my office and he came in. Kendall came in behind him. Kendall pulled up the footage from the earlier. "What is this Cody?" Cody looked at all the camera monitors. "When did you get cameras?" I shook my head. "To see if someone was being a thief like you." He looked behind me to Kendall. "Does he have to be here for this?"

Kendall scoffed. "Yes he does." Cody shrugged, "It's not like he's your boyfriend, so kindly tell him to leave." Kendall started walking toward him. "You don't know what he is to me, but he's staying." I threw up my hands, "Why would you do this? I thought I could trust you." He chuckled, "I was starting my own studio."

My jaw dropped and Kendall shook his head. "Y-you what? Your studio? With my paintings!" He nodded, "I had to start somewhere. Eventually we could've been in business together Katelyn, you and me. We would dominate the art side of L.A. We could've made more money then this scum," he motioned to Kendall. "And maybe, I could've taken you to dinner Katelyn."

Kendall stepped in front of me. "Well you're going to jail along with your buddy. You won't ever be taking Katelyn to dinner. She doesn't deserve someone like you, what made you think she was gonna ever date you? You stole from her." He shrugged, "She wasn't supposed to find out." Kendall went after him and I pulled him back. Someone knocked on the door. I opened it to find the police.

They turned Cody around and handcuffed him. "One day Katelyn." I put my hands on my face and slid them down. "I can't believe." Kendall gave me a one arm hug. "It's ok, you don't have to worry about him anymore. I'll make sure of it." I looked up at Kendall. I kissed his cheek. "Thank you for everything you've done for me. Really I appreciate you so much."

He smiled, "Eh, it's whatever, you're welcome." I shook my head, "No it's not. It's not whatever, you are such a sweetheart." He blushed. "Ok, you've been makin' me do that a little too much lately."

"What can I say?" He glared at me. "Oh and Kendall?" He raised his eyebrows. "I know you're the one who got the studio back for me." His eyes went wide. "W-what are you talking about?"

I shook my head, "I know it was you, I could tell." He looked down. "Kendall if I lost this studio, my life would be a mess and you brought it back to me. Kendall I don't know how to repay you." He put his hand up and shook his head, "No need. I'm just glad you got this back. I know how much this place means to you and I did everything I could to keep it with you."

I put my hands on either side of his cheek. He looked down at me. I was contemplating whether I should do it or not. He was too, I could tell by the way he was looking at me. I opened my mouth to say something, but no words came out. I pulled his face toward mine and he closed his eyes. He stopped. "Katelyn, I-I don't think we should do this."

I looked at him with hurt eyes. H-he didn't want this. I pushed him away from me. I walked out the room. "Katelyn! Wait come back let's talk! Katelyn!" I ran out despite his calls. I heard heels of his shoe clicking on the ground from his dress shoes. "How are you gonna get home huh?!" I shook my head and tears were coming down.

I walked to the nearby bus stop. "Katelyn you act like I didn't wanna kiss you in there but believe me, I did-." I cut him off. "Why didn't you?!" I pounded my fists on his chest. "Why didn't you?!" I cried. He was trying to say something, but it would never come out. The bus pulled up. "That's what I thought." He looked defeated.

"Katelyn it's because I-I think I love you."

Oooh, what did you guys think? Let me know. Until Next Time.
