25       WOODS (CAMPFIRE) - NIGHT

[BL.WIDOW is poking the fire. STORM wakes up]

STORM: What? Where am I?

BL.PANTHER: You are safe.

STORM: You! (pause) You saved me? Why?

BL.PANTHER: (pause) Unlike the others, I could see that you were trying to help.

STORM: (examines her wound) Others? What happened?

BL.PANTHER: Your people froze my team and took them away after they couldn't find you. (sees STORM struggle to sit up) Here let me help you.

STORM: You are from Africa?

BL.PANTHER: Yes. My home is Wakanda. You?

STORM: My ancestral home is Kenya, but I live in America.

[They intently gaze into each other's eyes]

BL.PANTHER: (pause) You are not all that bad.

STORM: Nor are you.

26        EXT. BROTHERHOOD CAMP (WOODS) - NIGHT

[SC.WITCH starts to wake up. Her head rolls to one side and she can just make out Vision]

SC.WITCH: (whispers) Vision?

[QUICKSILVER looms over SC.WITCH]

SC.WITCH: Pietro? Is that you?

[QUICKSILVER knocks SC.WITCH out and looks to MAGNETO for approval]

Cut to:

27         INT. XAVIOR'S SCHOOL - DAY

[X-men return with the unfrozen but unconscious Avengers]

PRO.X: Ah, welcome back. How did it go?

WOLVERINE: (walks right past PRO.X) Terrible.

[PRO.X watches the X-men carry the Avengers inside]

PRO.X: (to PHOENIX & CYCLOPS) I think you better explain what happ- where's Ororo?

CYCLOPS: She's missing.

PHOENIX: As are several of the members from the Avengers' team.

PRO.X: And what of Magneto?

CYCLOPS: Didn't even show up... but his minions did.

PHOENIX: We suspect that they had alteria motives.
