54 INT. AVENGERS BASE (FURY'S OFFICE) - DAY
[(photo of 'stern-FURY' with HILL & COUSLSON making funny faces in the b.g.) FURY is sitting at his desk going over SPIDERMAN's profile. FURY looks up at SPIDERMAN]
FURY: Mr. Parker-
SPIDERMAN: Oh, call me Peter!
[FURY is unimpressed]
FURY: (pause) Mr. Parker, this is your eighteenth attempt to join the Avengers-
SPIDERMAN: WAIT! Just wait, before you kick me out- again! Look, I meet all the criteria; I have a superpower, I have a costume, I have secret identity, my parents are dead-
FURY: Mr.Parker does your aunt even know where you are?
SPIDERMAN: (pause) Yes... No?
FURY: (sighs) No.
[SPIDERMAN goes to say something]
FURY: And that is final.
[FURY exits. SPIDERMAN tries to stop him when DEADPOOL appears from behind SPIDERMAN'S chair]
DEADPOOL: Ah, don't you worry, my little Spidy, you don't need them, it can be just you and me and some good ol' chimichangas.
[SPIDERMAN groans, bangs his head on the table and runs after FURY]
SPIDERMAN: FURY WAIT! Maybe I can bribe you with some chocolate cake?
[DEADPOOL slides over FURY's desk, sits in his chair, feet on the table and picks up FURY's name plate- scribbles his own name (DEADPOOL) over it with permanent marker. Places it back on table]
DEADPOOL: Ah, that's better (pause) Deadpool; Director of S.H.I.E.L.D! I like that (looks straight at camera) what do you think? Yeah, that's what I thought, too! (pause) We just have soooooo much in common! Oh, whats that I hear? The sound of a sequel coming on! You'd like that wouldn't you, you lazy bastards. Now why don't you run along now, and let your daddy Deadpool keep charge of S.H.I.E.L.D- you know what I mean (tries an 'obvious' wink). Bye-bye!
[DEADPOOL waves whilst point at the camera and holding an imaginary phone to his ear and mouthing: 'Call me!']
FADE TO BLACK.
