51 BROTHERHOOD BASE (THRONE ROOM) - NIGHT
[MAGNETO is sitting on his throne with WHI.QUEEN stand by him. QUICKSILVER is on the ground being tortured and SCAR.WITCH is being held back by TOAD. ANTMAN, CAP.AMERICA, WIN.SOLDIER, WOLVERINE, BEAST & CYCLOPS barge through the door. MAGNETO stands to address them]
MAGNETO: Welcome, dear brothers.
CAP.AMERICA: Under the authorities of the American Government- I order you to release The Vision, Wanda Maximoff... And Pietro Maximoff?
[MAGNETO goes to say something but is cut off by LOKI]
LOKI: Ha. You are a foolish mortal! Don't you get it? We have won and the world is doomed! Your little friends are nothing-
[The doors open. Enter the rest of the Avengers and X-men. Lead by IRON MAN]
IRON MAN: Oh, Reindeer Games- you really should learn not to monologue! Now why don't you do what ol' Cap says or we'll be more then happy to kick your ass- again!
[WH.QUEEN goes to attack. LOKI runs away, THOR runs after him]
THOR: BROTHER! BY ODIN'S NAME, I COMAND YOU; RETURN!
[Exit THOR & LOKI. IRON MAN tries to blast WHI.QUEEN. MAGNETO throws IRON MAN against the wall. CAP.AMERICA & WOLVERINE attack MAGNETO. PHOENIX attacks WHI.QUEEN. MAGNETO knocks out most of the Avengers using their own weapons. X-23 & SABARTOOTH attack HULK. DARK PHOENIX]
CYCLOPS: JEAN. NO!
[PHOENIX looks at CYCLOPS]
PHOENIX: (voice-over) I'm sorry Scott. (screams)
[DARK PHOENIX explodes. SCAR.WITCH screams and her power creates a forcefield around the Avengers and X-Men. Smoke clears DARK PHOENIX, X-23 & MAGNETO have vanished. WHI.QUEEN & SABARTOOTH lie unconscious]
IRON MAN: Holy shit- that was... AWESOME!
[HAWKEYE & BL.WIDOW hit IRON MAN over the head]
CYCLOPS: JEAN! JEAN! (Pause) Jean?
[WOLVERINE gives CYCLOPS a secret sympathetic look. BL.PANTHER helps move some rubble that had fallen on STORM's leg]
BL.PANTHER: Are you alright?
STORM: (winces) I will be.
[Intense gazing between BL.PANTHER & STORM. WIN.SOLDIER helps CAP.AMERICA up]
ANTMAN: So what now?
[CAP.AMERICA looks over at SCAR.WITCH crying over QUICKSILVER's unconscious body]
CAP.AMERICA: We live to fight another day.
[CAP.AMERICA walks over to SCAR.WITCH and crouches next to her]
CAP.AMERICA: Wanda? (Pause) Where's The Vision?
SCAR.WITCH: H-He is (pause) that way.
[SCAR.WITCH points right. CAP.AMERICA stands up and looks at WIN.SOLDIER]
CAP.AMERICA: You and Tony can go and get him- it- uh... Just go.
[IRON MAN & WIN.SOLDIER exit. CAP.AMERICA looks at ANTMAN]
CAP.AMERICA: The rest of us- the ones who are able, can help the others.
[WOLVERINE stands up]
WOLVERINE: Yeah? And what about ol' Magneto? Huh? What about the other mutants that got away?
CAP.AMERICA: We don't know if they got away or if that were swallowed by the fire- what we do know, however, is that we need to regroup and recover. The rest can wait.
[Close up montage of everyone's faces. Everyone starts walking away. BL.PANTHA carries STORM. WOLVERINE & CAP.AMERICA are the last to leave, CYCLOPS stays kneeling on the floor]
