Derek's P.O.V

I felt someone shaking my shoulder. My eyes slowly opened. Cora was kneeling next to me.

"You're okay." I murmured as Cora gave me water to drink. I agreed to drink and she smiled at me. I felt relieved to see her okay. Among the rest of the missions we have... Having her back... It's more than enough. Now is Jade's turn. I need to get that worry off my heart.

"I'm doing much better than you are right now, and all because of you." Cora stated.

"Hopefully not all for nothing." Peter added. "The moon is rising, Derek. You drained your battery all the way to the red, and there is a fully charged alpha on her way to rip you limb from limb."

"I'll be fine in a few hours." I assured him.

"I sincerely hope so, because a few hours is all that you have." I sighed, knowing how right he was. I'm not giving up. I promised Jade I'd change. I promised her I'll fight. I'm keeping my promise.

"Jade. Did anyone check about Jade?" I asked. Cora and Peter exchanged looks between them. Huh. Do they think it'll be fine to hide things from me? "I'm waiting for an answer." I used a more aggressive tone.

"Max said Jade refuses to enter the anima clinic." Cora spoke. I jumped and sat straightly which made Cora take a few steps back from me. How could she refuse??

"What? No. She needs to go there. Tell him to force her in. How is she even resisting? Did she start threatening to hurt herself again?" I can't deal with her act right now. She must heal.

"We'll talk to him. Now is the time for you to rest." Cora tried to calm me down. This isn't working. I know Max can't fight Jade. He's afraid she'll try to do something, and as stubborn as she is, she promised me she'll heal. I gave up on my powers for Cora instead of her because she promised me... Ugh, I can't relax because of her... I only want her safe. "Jade will be fine. I promise you."

   "I can't believe you."

"You must. There are other things we need to deal with right now, Derek. Max is with her, she'll be fine. I'll talk to him." I'm still not pleased.

"We know about the lunar eclipse, so don't think Kali's gonna sit around waiting for it to level the playing field. She's coming, and my brother's coming with her." Ethan warned me from them. He wants to help us. I felt surprised when he came to us.

"Good enough for me." Peter replied. "Derek?"

"You want me to run?" I asked. I can't run away like that. Not without Jade, and surely not without a fight...

"No. I want you to stay and get slaughtered by an alpha with a psychotic foot fetish. Of course I want you to run. Sprint, gallop, leap your way the hell out of this town."

"If you want to fight and die for something, that's fine with me, but do it for something meaningful." Cora added.

"How do you know I'm gonna lose?" I questioned. I'm tired of running. I'm not running from this.

"We don't, but I'll bet she has an idea. Don't you, Lydia?" Peter looked at Lydia that was standing behind Ethan.

"I don't know anything." Lydia mumbled.

"But you feel something, don't you?"

"What do you feel?" I asked Lydia.

"I feel like I'm standing in a graveyard." She replied. She reminds me of Jade...
