Derek's P.O.V

I woke up, slowly opening my eyes. I felt so exhausted. The bed felt empty. Jade didn't sleep next to me last night. She feels so far away from me and I can't get close to her... I miss us. I slowly got up from bed and put on some clothes. I walked to the bathroom, brushed my teeth and fixed myself. Staring at the mirror, looking at my mental exhaustion. Dealing with a newbie werewolf to get my ways... Fighting with Jade... I don't want that. I feel unhappy. Jade was away. I searched for her all over the house, but she's not here. I went outside to Scott's practice. I need to make sure he doesn't shift during the practice. He's on an edge. Every time he gets a little angry, he takes a risk by shifting around the students. He has no control over his powers and he might expose us. I don't need to be haunted by the Argents again. I can't risk putting Jade in danger. I don't think I'll be able to live without her.

When I got to the practice, they already started it. After a few minutes, I could feel Scott's heart beating fast. He was getting angry. Oh no. He's going to shift. Shit. He got angrier and angrier, it's like he wanted to get madder. His eyes began to glow. I kept looking at him, ready for when he shifts in front of everyone. Scott attacked a kid because of his anger, but his friend, Stiles, helped him and took him away. I was a moment from crashing their practice to stop him.

When I saw he was fine, I quickly left back home.

"Really? Again?" Jade asked when I entered the door, looking unpleased. "What's going on, Derek? You're hiding things from me." I know how she feels. I know she's angry with me. But I know she'll do anything to stop me. She doesn't want us to get attached to Beacon Hills again.

"I'm know. I'm sorry." I apologized. "I went to make sure Scott doesn't shift during his practice." She sighed and walked to the living room. "I don't want him to expose the supernatural world accidentally. He still doesn't know how to control his powers."

"I'll agree to that only if it's coming from a sincere place." I'm afraid she knows well enough my intentions. And that's what makes her feel like she can't trust me.

I was on my way to Scott's house. I have to warn him not to go to his game. I know he'll shift and I can't afford letting this teenager expose us. I hope he listens this time, or else I'll have to punch some understanding in him. I got inside through his window, and saw him talking to his friend Stiles via video-chat. He freaked out when he noticed me, and I pinned him to the wall.

"I saw you on the field." I told him aggressively. I don't understand the risks he's taking.

"Wha-what are you talking about?" Scott asked, being freaked out.

"You shifted in front of them! If they find out what you are, they find out about me. About all of us, and then it's not just the hunters after us, it's everyone." Maybe some horror will put logic in his head.

"But- they didn't see anything! I.. s-swear, I-"

"And they won't! Because if you even try to play in that game on Saturday- I'm gonna kill you myself." I warned him and went out of the room. The moment my feet touched the ground outside Scott's house, I saw her.

"Stop going after that kid, Derek." She cautioned. I'm getting on her bad side over and over again.

"All I'm trying to do is keep us safe-" She rolled her eyes at me. She doesn't believe me anymore

"He'll play that game, Derek." She informed. I won't let him. Since when does she decide over things?

"He can't."

"Yes, he can."

"No, he can't!" I yelled. I shouldn't have yelled. I could see how much anger was building up inside her. And I felt bad for doing that. But she never listens. "He can't control his powers, so he can't play. Now, we're done talking about it."

"Fine." She snapped. "Then you're done talk to me." And like that she disappeared.

I can't believe a freaking teenager comes in between Jade and I.

"Derek! Derek! Stay away from her! She doesn't know anything!" I heard Scott's voice outside my house. I walked to him. Jade's still gone. I guess he's talking about Allison. I put her jacket in her locker when I went to look for Scott at the practice.

"Yeah? What if she does? You think your little buddy Stiles can just google werewolves, and now you got all the answers, is that it? You don't get it yet, Scott, but I'm looking out for you." He needs to come to his senses. "Think about what could happen. You're out on the field. The aggression takes over, and you shift in front of everyone." I took his Lacrosse stick. He wasn't pleased. I know I'm making him irritated. "Your mom, all your friends. And when they see you," I slashed the netting in his Lacrosse stick. "Everything falls apart." I walked back to my house. I hope he'll think about what I'm saying. He doesn't need to take that risk. He needs to be safe.

I don't know what went through Scott and Stiles' minds when they did this, but I got arrested by the police. And there's still no sign of Jade. These kids just don't know when they need to stop.

"Okay, just so you know, I'm not afraid of you." Stiles commented as he entered the police car I was left in, and I glared at him. "Okay, maybe I am. doesn't matter. I just wanna know something. The girl you killed, she was a werewolf. She was a different kind, wasn't she? I mean, she could turn herself into an actual wolf, and I know Scott can't do that. Is that why you killed her?" I wish they didn't stick their noses where they don't belong. It ached to hear them think I killed Laura. But they don't know.

"Why are you so worried about me when it's your friend who's the problem? When he shifts on the field, what do you think they're gonna do? just keep cheering him on? I can't stop him from playing, but you can, and, trust me, you want to." I advised him and his dad took him out of the police car. These kids will never learn. I hope Stiles still has a brain to help Scott since I can't, for now. I wanted to make things better. I know I don't sound lovely to them, but I couldn't care less. I just need them to listen to me.

"I'm getting you out." Stiles' father informed me as he opened the cell I was in. He unlocked my cuffs and let me walk outside after him. I noticed Jade outside the station. "She paid to get you out."

"Okay." I muttered. I walked outside the station, seeing Jade was standing there as I held out my arms to give her a hug. She ignored me, walking to the car.

"I told you not to bury her body next to our house, didn't I?" She finally spoke. I don't care about her scolding, I want her next to me. I missed her and I'm not sure I can do this without her.

"I told you I love you, didn't I?" I smiled. She tried hard not to smile, but she couldn't hold herself. I love her. "Please come back to me." I whispered.

"I'm here."

"Doesn't feel like it." She sighed. I know I disappointed her. But I can't lose her. I lost too much throughout my short life. I need her next to me. "I want us to be the couple we were before we came back to this town. You were so much better before, Derek..." I sighed. She's right. I'm going through another heartache with my sister's death. Jade is the only one I have left and I feel too tense about losing her. If I lose Jade... I don't want to think what might happen.

"Okay. I promise." I replied, knowing she dislikes it when someone breaks a promise.
