24. The Divine Move

Scott's P.O.V

It's been only a few hours, but everything happened so fast... I lost 2 of women in my life. 2 of those that are important to me. It hurts... I feel so lost. I don't know what to do anymore. I mean, I need to help Stiles, but everything hurts inside. I need time... I wish I had time. It's hard to think when there's so much in my head.

But that jaguar... It's the only thing that gives me hope right now. Hope it's Jade.

"Scott," I looked next to me and saw Chris. I let him hold Allison's body, and went to where Jade's body was, but it was gone. Where is it? It was here a moment ago. Fuck! My heart was beating fast, and I felt like I couldn't breathe. I lost Allison and not only that I lost Jade, I also lost her body. What am I going to tell Derek? He'll be devestated. He won't be able to live with himself if he finds out that Jade had died.

But then I heard a growl, but it wasn't a werewolf's growl. I looked up and saw a jaguar running away from afar. That can't be her. This can't be her... Shit...

Derek's P.O.V

I used a lighter to burn the rest of Ethan's wolfsbane wound closed. I put some wolfsbane dust in the wound, same as I did when it happened to me when Kate shot me. I snapped the lighter.

"Should be fine in a couple of hours. Unless whoever shot you manages to find you again." I replied. Aiden marched away.

"Lydia's with Scott. We need to go." Aiden ordered.

"Are you gonna try to convince her to go with you?" I asked him.

"I'm gonna try and convince her to run and hide. Like any sane person would do." I looked at Ethan.

"And Danny?"

"Allison's dead. Stiles is dying. What do you think?" Ethan asked. The only person I can think about is Jade. I wonder how she is.

"I think Danny won't believe you, and Lydia would never run and hide."

"Because of Stiles?" Aiden asked.

"Because of Scott." I corrected him. "You've been trying to find a way into his pack. Trying to earn his trust, trying to fight for him. You've had it wrong the whole time. You don't fight for a leader. You fight for a leader's cause."

"What cause?"

"Scott's always been about one thing. Saving his friends. He will do anything and everything to save the people he cares about. When there's no chance of winning, he keeps fighting. When all hope is lost, he finds another way and when he's beaten down, he stands up again. You want to earn a place in his pack? You want redemption? Find another way to stand and fight." He's probably devestated that he couldn't save Allison. But he needs us to pick him up, and that's what we're going to do.

I went to the school with Ethan and Aiden because I knew the nogitsune is there. I was informed by Scott about this, and I'm going to fight with all my will. I already shifted.

"Did you bring us a present?" The nogitsune asked. I set the triskele urn down. We needed it to get the firefly that gets out of the nogitsune back inside the urn. Ethan and Aiden joined me.

"I brought two." I answered.

"I've heard of an alpha pack, Derek, but not a pack of former alphas." It commented. "It's a little sad, isn't it?" I'll show him what's sad soon enough.

"I might not be an alpha anymore, but I can still fight like one." The twins and I fought two oni outside the school while the nogitsune watched. He seemed to be enjoying watching us fighting. I kept thinking about Jade. She would've loved to help us. I couldn't get a hold of her, no matter how much I tried. I'll be able to look for her only when we finish this... I miss her.
