I didn't know what to say. I was too happy and excited to say anything. Sal got me tickets for the Jokers Cruise, all three Radio City shows, and the U.K. shows! Of course I would be backstage, but I still couldn't believe it!

"Are you excited?" Sal asked.

"Fuck yeah! Thank you so much" I said.

"I thought you were coming anyways" he said.

"What? I thought I was going to stay here the whole time" I said.

"I wouldn't do that. It wouldn't feel right if I went to have fun and left you here. I also have something else for you" he said.

"What is it?" I asked.

He handed me a piece of paper. I started to read it.

Dear Josephine Vulcano,
We are very excited to have you to be a part of our online schooling program. You will be enrolled in the NYC Online Schooling Program in January 2016. We look forward to having you be a part of our high school online schooling program. Thank you!

"Congratulations!" Sal screamed.

"Thanks, but it's nothing. I'm just happy I can finish school soon. If I do all of my classes in a year, can I graduate?" I said.

"Hell yeah. Do it if you want to" Sal said.

"Okay. Thanks for everything. You make me feel right at home and loved. Although I lost my family, you make me feel like I have a new, fun family" I said.

"I love you, Jo" Sal said.

I walked away. I was too cool to say I loved him back. Then, I realized that I was always too cool to say it to my family, and now I lost them.

"Love you, Sal" I said.

Sal smiled and then went upstairs. He and I both took showers and then went to sleep.

I woke up and went downstairs. I started watching tv and playing on my phone. A few minutes later, Sal came down.

"Good morning" I said.

"Hey" he yawned.

"What are you doing today?" I asked.

"Just staying home. I need to talk to you for a second" he said.

"Okay. What is it?" I said.

"There's going to be a guy coming here. He's going to check out the house out and talk to you to see how you're doing. To ask if you're happy, safe, and all that. Don't be scared, everybody who adopts a child is checked up on. It's in case somebody needs to be taken away from somebody" Sal said.

"Okay. What time is he coming?" I said.

"Around 1 pm" he said.

"Alright. I'm going to go shower" I said.

"Same. We have to look clean for that guy" Sal said.

We went upstairs and showered. It was a cold day, so I was freezing when I got out. I put on a white t-shirt and black leggings.

By the time it was 1 pm, I was downstairs sitting next to Sal on the couch.

The door bell rang and Sal went to open the door. The man was not too old, had glasses, was very tan, and looked very professional. I was very intimidated by him. I could tell Sal was too.

"Hello. My name is Brock Simmons. I come from an organization that keeps children safe. I'm here to check up on you guys. You are Salvatore Vulcano, yes?" said the man.

"Yes. Come in" Sal said. He looked extremely nervous.

He walked in and sat down on the couch.

"You must be Josephine! How are you?" Brock said.

Sal came and sat down next to me.

"I'm good" I said.

"That's wonderful. I have to ask you a few questions. Sal, please leave the room" he said.

He seemed to be mean to Sal and nice to me.

Sal left the room and went to the kitchen. His face was red and he looked scared.

"So Josephine, I have a few questions for you. First question: How do you like living with Salvatore overall?" he said.

"It's pretty amazing" I said.

"Is he good to you?" Brock asked.

"Of course" I said.

"Do you have a proper education?" he asked.

"Yeah. I'm going to start online school in January" I said.

"Uh huh. Well that's all I need right now. Sal, I need to ask you a few questions" Brock said.

Sal walked over to us. He sat down next to me.

"Hello. Nice to meet you" Sal said.

"Nice to meet you too. How is Josephine?" Brock said.

"She's great. Amazing young girl" Sal said.

"Okay. I have to check the house out now" he said.

He went upstairs with Sal and then checked every room out. The man left at 2 pm.

Sal and I sat around for a while. We were bored.

"I'm bored" I said.

"So am I. Sometimes I try to make fans go crazy when I'm bored" he said.

"You mean with like a picture?" I asked.

"Yeah. I like to read the comments. The fans are so sweet" he said.

"Yeah, but they'll go crazy for you. They don't want to see me" I said.

"Come on, that's not true. Let's take a picture" Sal said.

He snapped a selfie where we made peace signs and duck lips. He put them on Twitter and Facebook. Likes and comments were immediately coming in.

I saw this picture on every social media app there was. Sal and I kept looking at our phones and showing each other our favorite comments.

"Oh shit!" Sal screamed.

"What happened? You scared me" I said.

"I need to get people Christmas gifts. I completely forgot to go shopping" Sal said.

"Let's go buy stuff. Christmas is in three days!" I said.

"Alright. I can't believe I forgot to get gifts for the people I love the most" Sal said.
