That one moment...

Chapter 16

              Jason Clarke
"Hi!" Jessica said in a low tone.
I wasn't able to process the view infront of me Jessica ? Is she the girl who was coming in my dreams ? Is she the one who needs help ? But ...but why would she need my help ?

"Jason ..Jason.Are you alright? " Jessica questioned me worryingly which made me to come back to reality.

"Yes...yes am alright ..ahem ." I replied shrugging the thoughts away." What are you doing here? "

"I need your help !!"

"My help ? What happened?" I asked gesturing her to sit.

"Actually its about my friend Elena ..."

"What about her ?" I cutted her off with a frown and she gave me shut up boy look."sorry you were saying?"

" first of all don't you dare say anything about my friend...you don't know her and you don't know what she has been gone through." She looked at me angrily.

" okay am sorry I won't now tell me what's the matter ?" I replied and I don't know something inside of me wanted to know about Elena.May be there's a connection between Elena and that girl.Helena's words echoed in my mind.
May this is my chance to know.

"Okay! Let me start from the top.Elena and I are friends since junior school .She was the different person ,a very different I should say from the person we see her now.She was happy ,making everyone else happy ,she was really good in her grades,funny and as a person she was so compassionate.she was my friend ,she was  just awesome..." She stopped with tears in her eyes.
" but something never stay the same.Years back on her seventh birthday her father died infront of her in an accident.That day not only uncle was gone but he took all of Elena with him..." Her voice was trembling and I passed her a glass of water.

" I am so sorry Jessica to hear about your friend."

"Its okay Jason ! After that day everything was changed her mother and brother hates her .They blame her for uncle's death ."

"What that's cruel !! Why?" I asked  angrily.

" I don't know.Her brother was so close to her but after their father's death he treats like shit...and I don't understand her mother she doesn't stop him to say all the cruel things to her but she takes part in that." She sighed.

"I can't believe this ...this is wrong." I said while standing up .

" that's why I need your help.From few days I have been noticing her mother's suspicious behavior and most important thing today when I was on my way to Elena in morning I stopped by the  coffee shop near her house to grab some coffee and breakfast.I decided to take a walk from the coffee shop to her house when I noticed her mother going inside the nearby park.I Don't know what came over me but I decided to go after her so I did .I saw her talking to some man when I went near I heard her saying
I can't get her out of my house ,I need her untill she is 25 and besides she is supporting Louis study....
Just then I dropped the coffee cup and she told the man that she is leaving.I stood there processing the words but I couldn't came up with any conclusion or anything." She explained.

" what does she mean by she need her untill she is 25?" I questioned.

" I literally don't know and there's one more thing I don't know may be am wrong but I think that her father's death is not an accident..."

Those words really shocked me if not an accident then what ...

"What you want me to do ?"

"I want you to  dig ,dig deep because there is something which no one knows but only her mother...you are a business man and you can use some resources which I cannot ,importantly I will be leaving in one week's time.I don't know why I came here but only your name came up in my mind ...but please Jason I want you to help my friend please ." She begged me and she had so much hope in her eyes.

I was confused at that moment what should I say ..how will I be able to help her but my inner was screaming to help her .I remembered Elena 's sad eyes today in the meeting  that's why she was sad ,thats why she is always walking out of the world.I want to help her...yes I do !

"Jessica I will help you in finding the truth behind her father's death..." I replied feeling confident about my decision.

"Oh thank you so much Jason.you don't how much am relieved now.I will provide you any inner information I come across in my stay..thank you so much Jason."Her face lit up as soon as I agreed to help her.

" So tell me when her father died ?" I questioned her.

" umm.10 august 2010 around 8:45 p.m.Near Hailey 's giftshop which is two blocks away from Elena's home."

"Hmm..Jessica tell me one thing why didn't you tell anything about your suspicion on her mother ?"

"No I can't.first she will not believe me because no matter what ever happen she loves her with all her heart and she is already upset because a lot of things going on.So, I didn't tell her and we don't even know what the truth is!." She replied with worried expressions.

" Okay how you think we will make her believe that what she saw was not true ..I mean the accident was not actually an accident."

"Right now I don't know how but we have to fine the truth first afterwards we will think about it how to tell her." She suggested.

I think she is right first finding the truth is important.

"I will call some of friends to help us .One of my friend is in police department we can use his help ." I assured her .

" Thank you Jason really it means a lot ." She said with tears in her eyes .

" I hope so I will be able to help you and your friend." I replied with a blank expression but there was a hurricane growing inside me.I was regretting all the horrible words I used for Elena ,how I judged her wrong .I know what she has been going through because I know what's its like to lose someone so dear to us .I know how vulnerable I was when mom died  Helena was the only source who helped me.

One thing I know for sure today was my hatred for Elena was changed into respect.Respect because she was doing all her efforts to support her family after all the hatred and cruelty she was facing  everyday if I was at her place I wouldn't have been able to do that....
