Chapter 6

Miranda pov

Dan got out of surgery an hour and a half ago and he was still sleeping, its now around 7 o'clock. "Hey" Josh passed me a coffee cup and sat beside me "hi, thanks" i gave him a smile. "This isn't a very good birthday is it" he sighed "it isn't how i thought it'd turn out. But at leased dans okay. And we're getting married" i smiled and leaned into him. "Lots of excitement today" he chuckled and wrapped his arm around me. "Oh yeah" i yawned "try and get some sleep" he kissed my head. I sat up and set my coffee on the small side table and laid back down onto his shoulder. "Can you wake me up when he wakes up?" I asked "of course" Josh smiled as i closed my eyes.

"Daddy? Mommy?" I opened my eyes to find dan awake. I smiled and lifted my head off Josh's shoulder. "Morning baby" i smiled "hi" he smiled back, looking at Josh, who was still asleep. "Josh" i nudged his shoulder lightly "huh? Is dan alright?" He woke up and Dans smile grew. "Hi bud" Josh yawned and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes "daddy guess what" Dan smiled "you won the lottery" Josh chuckled "no... I got that thing" Dan pointed down to his cast "whoa you got a cast" Josh smiled "yeah, the doctor said people can sign it" Dan said excitedly "can we sign it?" I questioned "Yes" Dan smiled proudly. I looked around the room till i found a sharpie marker on the table next to my -now cold- coffee. I grabbed the pen "who do you want to sign first?" I asked holding the pen "can daddy?" Dan asked. I chuckled and handed the marker to Josh. He smiled and signed the cast. He wrote 'get better soon buddy love dad' i smiled as he finished writing. "Now... Mommy" Dan smiled at me. "Now mommy" Josh chuckled handing me the pen as i walked over to Dans foot. "Now me" i laughed as i wrote 'feel better soon hun love mom' "thank you" Dan smiled admiring his cast in awe. "How do you feel?" I asked "good" he smiled at me and Josh. "Im going to go check and see if Kayla and them stayed last night" Josh stood up "alright" i smiled

-once Dan gets out of the hospital-

"Can you get him into his seat while i put the wheel chair into the trunk?" I asked Josh "yup, arms up big guy" he smiled down at Dan. Dan lifted his arms and Josh picked him up out of his wheelchair and placed him in his car seat as i put the wheel chair in the back of the car. After i shut the trunk i walked to the passenger side and got in. "Kayla and Sara are already at home right?" I asked Josh as he drove out of the parking garage "yup, their waiting for us" he smiled and held my hand as we got back onto the main road. "When is my foot gunna be okay?" Dan asked from his seat "3 to 5 weeks" Josh said looking at him in the rear view mirror (a/n i don't know how long you have to wear a cast for when you break your ankle)
