"MOM DAD I MADE A FRIEND!" Kayla exclaimed as we all buckled up in the car, "wow thats great!" I smiled "whats her name?" Miranda asked as i pulled out of the parking lot, "her name is Jackie" Kayla smiled "i got a hot wheel shoved down my pants" Dan sighed and looked out the window "why on earth was a hot wheel shoved down your pants?" I asked "he kept playing with the guitar he made" Kayla said "you made a guitar?" I asked then he pulled out a kleenex box with a paper towel roll and elastics attached to it. "Thats cool dude" Miranda smiled "that still doesn't really explain why you got a hot wheel down the pants" i stopped at a red light and looked at him through the rear view mirror. "James got mad because i didn't want to play with him" Dan mumbled. "Well thats mean" Miranda stated "Dan threw the toy at him and it hit him on the side of the head and Dan got time out" Kayla smirked "Kayla!" Dan hissed "Daniel Matthew is that anyway to treat someone" Miranda sighed "he started it!" Dan said "i don't care who started it, what have we told you about throwing toys" Miranda stated as we pulled up in front of the house. "Throwing toys is bad" Dan spoke in a higher pitched voice trying to mimic Miranda's voice. Miranda opened her mouth to say something but then shut it and got out of the car and into the house leaving me and the kids. "Kayla, you can go if you want" i said then Kayla unbuckled and went inside. "Dan. Your mother is under some... Stress. Lately, and you acting like this isn't helping" i sighed unbuckling, turning to look at him "why is she stressed?" He asked tilting his head confused... Shit what do i say... "Um she... Um her friend found out she's having a baby and mom has been trying to help her out because her friend is stressed and worried" i said "oh, okay. Im sorry for how i acted today, next time i'll just set the car on the ground and wear a tighter belt" he sighed "that a boy. Now why don't we go inside and apologize to mom" i said, he nodded and unbuckled as i got out of the car. "Go give her a big hug" i whispered in his ear as we took off our shoes. He smiled and nodded then took off to the kitchen where Miranda and Kayla where talking. "Im sorry for how I've been acting" Dan mumbled into Miranda's shoulder as they hugged. "Its okay hun" Miranda kissed his head "I'm sorry for how I've acted" Miranda set Dan back on the ground. "Dad can i cut my hair" Kayla smiled at me from her spot up on the island. "What kind of hair cut?" I chuckled "i want my hair to be like Tay Jardine or Jenna Mcdougall's" She smiled "I think that'd be cool, if its alright with mom its alright with me" i smiled "we'll get it done this weekend" Miranda chuckled "YAY!" Kayla yelled as she jumped on Miranda's back from the counter "holy shit" Miranda mumbled once she realized what had happened "careful Kayla" i walked over to the both of them once Kayla jumped down. "Why don't you guys go play for a bit, we're going to uncle Mike and aunt Megan's house tonight" i said and both kids walked downstairs. Miranda leaned back on the island and closed her eyes and took deep breaths "you alright" i asked worried "yeah. She just knocked the wind outta me" Miranda opened her eyes and gave me a small smile.
