Josh pov -2 years later-

(dan and Kayla are 6 and Miranda is 33 and Josh is 34)

"Dad, my iPod wont work" Dan walked up to Miranda and I "what did you do to it" i asked as i took the damp iPod "it fell in the toilet when i was brushing my teeth" he sighed i gaged slightly and set it on the table "i got it" Miranda stood up taking the iPod and walking to the cabinet. She pulled out a box of rice and then walked to the cupboard and pulled out a bowl. She filled the bowl with rice and put the iPod in it. "When its fixed your not allowed to use it in the bathroom anymore" i stated "dadddd" Dan pouted "no, don't dad, me. We don't need to end up buying you a new one again" i said "but you got kayla a new one when hers got wet and broke" he fought "its because you threw it out the window into the pool" Miranda walked back and sighed "she asked me to help her sink it, so i did" he smirked "off to your room there smart ass" i turned him around by his shoulders and pointed to his room. "Fine" i sighed and walked upstairs "you've gotta admit, the whole sinking thing was funny" Dan called from upstairs "room" Miranda called "yes your highness's" he walked into his room and slammed the door "he's just like you" Miranda smirked at me "yes he is a stubborn pain in the ass" i chuckled. "Should i start lunch? Kayla and Nicole are going to be here soon" she chuckled "are they still shopping" i laughed "so girly eh, she gets it from you" Miranda smirked and went to the fridge "ouch, just called your husband girly" i faked hurt "you know your girly" she chuckled and pulled a frozen pizza out of the freezer. "Pizza okay?" She held it up "yup" i smiled and walked over to her "Mom" Dan called from his room "yes" Miranda walked closer to the stairs "will my iPod be working for school?" He asked "your not taking your iPod to school" she stated and walked back and started to unwrap the pizza "dad" dan looked at me hopeful "no iPod at school" i said "You never let me do anything!" He spat and slammed his door again. "How does a six year old have such a bad attitude" Miranda sighed "ill go talk to him" i sighed and walked upstairs to his room which is now where the old music room was, the music room was moved down to the basement living room. "Dan" i knocked on his door then slowly opened it. "Whats wrong" i sat at the end of his bed and looked at him. "Im starting school tomorrow." He stated "whats wrong with that?" I questioned "your barely home and i don't get to see you, your always at the studio working on new songs and planning tours. Then when your here you spend a few hours a day with both me and Kayla and you pay more attention with her. Then you spend the rest of your time with mom... And. I miss you." He looked up at me. "Come here" i patted the bed beside me and he crawled over to me "first of all, what you just said made you sound like 8 years old. Second of all, I'm sorry you feel this way, i know my job sucks. But its what I've got to do, if i could stay at home every day of every year, you know i would. But sadly it doesn't work that way." I sighed. "I know. Im sorry for bringing this up" he said hopping off the bed walking to his guitar in the corner of the room. "Have you learned anything new?" I asked, he nodded and started strumming, it took me a second but i figured out it was beside you. He played a quarter of the song with a few mistakes then said that was all he knew "its sounding good" i smiled "thanks" he smiled "Mom, Dad we're home" i heard Nicole and the front door open and close "i think Kayla's here" i chuckled and stood up as Dan set his guitar back on its stand. "Hey Nicole" Miranda chuckled Dan and I left his room. "Hey guys" me and Dan walked down the stairs "i got clothes for school tomorrow" kayla walked in and dropped three bags on the floor then laid on her stomach beside them "I'm so tired" she groaned "I'm making pizza" Miranda smirked "I'm up" Kayla stood up and ran to the kitchen "go wait with kayla" i spoke to Dan "kay" he walked to the kitchen "wanna stay for pizza?" I asked Nicole "id love to, but i need to show Miranda something out at the car, then take off" Nicole smiled "ill be right back" her and Nicole walked outside closing the door behind them.
