"It's simple really," I tell my younger brother, Axel. Axel's only eleven so he doesn't get the chance to have his name reaped until next year. He's trying to learn how to throw a knife and actually hit the target.
"But, Clove, that's easy for you to say," he starts as he tries to aim the knife.
"It's easy for anyone to say as long as they know they can do it. It's all in the arm, Ax," I say. "Axel, you don't need to aim the knife; just stand in a position where your arm is aimed at the target."
Axel throws the knife and hits the edge of the target. "Yes!" he says to me.
"Nice," I say patting him on the back. "Now go put the knife back cause we've got to go. Reaping Day's tomorrow and I don't want to be picked and look like an exhausted mess." Axel nods.
