A/N: I am planning to update about once a week, gonna be less particular about the day though this time, and see how that works. I have the story all planned out, though the content of each chapter is not set in stone yet. It's probably going to be about 35 Chapters, give or take a few. I really hope you enjoy this story!

When I woke up, I was in a huge four poster bed, with the curtains all drawn back. I was still wearing the black jeans and white button up shirt I had been wearing when I left work, but my hoodie, socks and shoes had been removed. The sheet over the bed was silken, and slipped easily against my skin when I ran my hand across the bed.

There was light streaming into the room through the gaps in the shuttered windows, showing me the ornately decorated ceilings, almost like one of the old manors I'd seen in my history class. Each post on the bed had flowers carved into them, in the Gothic style much loved several centuries before. There were two doors leading out of the room. One on the far wall and another in the wall on my left, opposite one of the windows.
Instinctively, I got up and walked across the room to the first door, which was locked. I then padded across the soft carpet to the second door, which opened when I turned the handle.

The door led into a bathroom, furnished as decoratively as the bedroom. There was a stand alone bath tub in the centre of the room, a vanity unit complete with sink directly across, a toilet tucked to the left and a huge walk in shower to the right.

Just as I'd finished checking out the bathroom, I heard the door in the other room being unlocked and opened.
"Ah, you're finally awake!" I heard the owner of the mysterious voice moving through the room behind me. Once again, I turned around. This time, I found myself face to face with a man about the same height as me, with tan skin and longish brown hair.
"I'm sorry about the manner I had to use to get you here. You see, I have been looking for someone like you for quite some time, and, well, I have been watching you for almost six months. While it proved you are perfect for what I need, I also learnt that there was no other way to get you to... how should I say this? I think comply fits quite nicely." I just looked at the door he had come through. There was a tall man by the door, I assumed one of the ones who had brought me here. I would have no chance to leave that way. The man in front of me must have noticed me planing towards the door.

"Please don't try to get away. I promise that you will not be hurt during your time here. I will make sure that you are looked after properly."
"Who are you?" I was suddenly curious as to who my captor was, and who I would be plotting to get away from.
"Well, it's a long story. In short, call me Vic. At this time, you don't need to know much more than that. But you will learn in time. Now expect you are probably hungry, so let us go and dine."

Unexpectedly, I was allowed to walk wit Vic without any restraints or blindfolds, although the tall man was right behind me the whole time. With him there, it was obvious that escape would be impossible.

The hallways we walked through were all as finely decorated and furnished as the bedroom I had woken up in, some lined with cabinets and others with walls made up of bookshelves.

We went through some hallways and down a few flights of stairs, telling me that I must have been on the third or fourth floor of the house when I woke up.

Eventually, we ended up in a huge dining room, with a table that seemed like it would sit at least twenty people comfortably. There were just two places set, right up at the far end where there was a door, presumably leading to the kitchen.
"Take a seat, and we shall take lunch together. Mike, go and tell the chef that we will eat now." The tall man left through the door at the end. For some reason, I felt as though escape was still impossible, with Vic right in front of me. We hadn't passed any doors that would lead outside on the way here, meaning that I would have to find one.
"Now, I should probably explain why you are here. However, I think that it will do no harm to wait until later, and instead to show you the extent of the house and gardens which you will be safe in." I nodded, thinking that it might help me learn how to leave this place.

***
Lunch was honestly a small banquet, and the food, much like the house, screamed vast amounts of wealth. Vic introduced me formally to Mike, Tony and Jaime. Mike and Tony had been the ones who'd captured me on the street, drugged me, and brought me to the large manor house. Jaime had also been there, waiting in a car ready to drive us here.

Once lunch was over, Vic stood up and took me into the garden, walking down a small series of hallways to a pair of French doors, leading out into a large, walled garden. There were flower beds at the base of the brick walls, with a rose bush in each corner of the garden. The back of the garden was under the shade of a large tree, branches spreading out for metres.
"So the only way in and out of this garden is through these doors here. Which is good, because it allows you some space outside where you will be safe. Now come with me, because there is a small series of gardens which come off the back of this one. Some are locked, and you will not gain access to them without me, for obvious security reasons. But other than those spaces, you are free to explore out here as you please."

He took me further back into the garden, and showed me a gate which was propped open. "I won't take you back there now, so please do explore yourself. I would like to show you some more inside the house, and the we can get down to business."
