A/N: Yes I did plan to do this, and yes the sequel is still a thing that I'm going to do. I just also wanted to do this, I wasn't sure whether to do this or something else as the bonus chapter, but after discussions were had with some friends who I was going to ask to vote on what I wrote, it was decided that I'd do this. And before anyone asks, no, I am not telling you what the other idea was, I might still use the idea later on, I might not. You'll have to find out. But you do need to read this, some of it is quite important for the sequel.

Quick thank you to everyone who read this, cause this story has hit 1K. Its all thanks to you readers!

On another note, I hope that you enjoy this, and have a wonderful time no matter what you might be celebrating (even if it is finally realising you are Moriarty, enjoy it). Enough of me jabbering on now. On with the story!

I woke up to Vic shaking me vigorously.
"Kellin, wake up! It's Christmas!" I opened my eyes, looking up to where he was propped up, leaning over me. "Come on, I bet everyone else will be up soon." I groaned, but let him pull me up.
"Of course you all get up early on Christmas. I should have known."
"What do you mean? Isn't it a normal thing to do?" I shook my head, covering my mouth as I yawned.
"No, it's a holiday, I always slept in, and then spent it with one of the ladies in the same apartment block as me. The same one who used to keep a spare key for me."
"Of course, you didn't have a big breakfast to get up to, or a session of opening presents from family to go to. Well now you do, and then we can go and visit our friends, take them their presents, and then come back home in time for dinner. My parents will do their Christmas speech while we are out, and I think Mike and Hayley are going to be coming with us. After dinner we'll have the Christmas Ball, all the people that came to the ball to congratulate us on our relationship will be there, and I think the others will come up to that, they usually do." Vic told me, already picking out some clothes to wear to go down for breakfast.
"Great, so instead of a nice relaxing day, we will be rushing around from one place to the next." He kissed me, and shoved a top and some bottoms into my hand.
"It's fun though. And then tomorrow, we are going to the children's home that you've been helping, to give the children presents, they'll already be receiving new clothes from us today, but we're going to give them something a little more tomorrow, like we agreed." I pulled on the clothes Vic had given me,finding that they were nothing more than grey pyjama bottoms and a dull orangey red coloured top.
"I take it there aren't any pictures this morning then." Vic shook his head vehemently.
"No, we get to have our own private family time this morning. We don't get that much privacy with our lives, so we actually banned anyone from coming to the palace on Christmas morning unless invited for purely social reasons." I let out a sigh of relief. Since we'd come to what was now home at the palace, there had been press almost everyday, with very few breaks. I didn't mind it too much, because as long as Vic was by my side, I knew I'd be okay, but I was a little worried that Christmas would just be constant press. "Come on, let's go find everyone else."

We left Vic's wing of the palace, walking down the stairs into the private, informal area of the palace where only family, friends and the handful of people working in the palace were allowed. I liked the fact that we had this form of sanctuary, intended to keep the family functioning as a unit rather than becoming distant and disjointed. Despite their commitments to their country, they still had what looked like a very healthy family relationship. We found that Vic's parents were already in the sitting room, enjoying their mugs of coffee.
"Vic, Kellin, merry Christmas, boys." Vic let go of my hand and hugged first his mum, and then his dad.
"Merry Christmas to you, too."
"Kellin, come here." Vic's mum stood up, holding her arms out to me. I went over and hugged her, something that she'd been making sure happened at least once every day. "You are just much a part of the family as any of us are now, Kellin. I'll be dammed if I don't get a hug off of you voluntarily on Christmas." I smiled, she'd made me feel very welcome, all of them had.
"Thank you. It's just a little odd for me, that's all."
"I know, but hopefully a good odd."
