The next morning, I woke up to Vic knocking on the door.
"Kellin, I need to talk to you." I rolled over and groaned. It felt early.
"Come in then." He opened the door nervously, as I sat myself up, leaning back against the head board.
"I just wanted to say that I'm sorry. For getting mad, for giving you a reason to be mad at me. I'm also sorry that I kissed you like that, it was wrong of me. I'm just-" I cut him off, not wanting to listen to a long winded apology.
"Forget about it Vic, I got mad, said stuff I shouldn't have said. We were both wrong, and I am sorry too." I watched his face flood with relief.
"You won't regret it, trust me. I am going to make it up to you as much as I can. I promise you."
"Please don't do that." Him making a promise only reminded me of how real this all was, despite my isolation from the rest of the world. He didn't hear me though, already going through the draw containing swim wear.
"Its a beautiful day today, so lets go to the outdoor pool. I will try not to make any stupid comments, and you can just enjoy it." I stopped fighting him, knowing that he wouldn't take any notice of it. Instead, I took the beach shorts he had picked up and changed into them in the bathroom.

We skipped out breakfast altogether in favour of a big, early lunch after a morning in the pool. It was actually quite fun, chilling in the pool. I swam a few lengths, getting used to being in the water after years of avoiding it. We had a competition, seeing who could hold their breathe for the longest under water, which Vic won. I got the feeling that he spent huge amounts of time in the pool, and probably in the gym too. The sun was beating down on us, and my sin felt like it might actually stop being so pale for a few days. Vic, as usual, seemed to be genuinely happy to just spend time with me. I was once again distracted by him, trying to sneak glances of the defined muscles I had glimpsed on the first night here.

"Hey Kellin! Vic! Mind if we join you?" Mike, Tony and Jaime all appeared on the pool side, armed with towels and inflatable chairs.
"Sure, the more the merrier right?" I smiled up at them. Vic seemed more hesitant, like he wanted me to himself, but it wasn't like he could refuse them, not after a few hours of being just the pair of us.
"Vic, we were thinking that we should all go out on Saturday. I mean, as awesome and huge as this place is, Kellin is gonna get bored being here all the time pretty soon." I was surpirsed to hear Tony suggest taking me away from here. But then, I think Mike realised that I had promised him that I would try, even if I hadn't said it.
"What were thinking? Where should we go?"
"To that restaurant you like, then for a walk on the sea front. It's not going to be much Kellin, but I bet it'll be nice to spend a few hours away from this place." I nodded, and then looked at Vic who seemed to be thinking about it.
"I think that could happen. Its not like you can't be out and about with us, it's just easier to have you here when we aren't around. I know its restraining, and not ideal, but nothing about this entire situation is. Jaime is right though, it's not going to be a huge outing."
"I think it sounds fun. If you guys are happy, it would actually be really nice to get out for a few hours. Take all the precautions you want, I swear that I will stay right by your side the whole time." Mike fight my eye, smiling. I was right in thinking he knew I had made the promise the night before.

The boys joined us actually in the pool, floating around lazily. After playing around with Vic, doing summersaults and handstands in the shallower end, we got out and switched to the hot tub, sitting side by side, watching Mike and Tony try to knock each other off of their floats using a long plastic floatation device I'd heard Jaime call a woggle. It was generally quite fun to watch them, and hear Vic chuckling beside me.

"What did they say to you last night? They never told me, but I know a simple apology this morning is no where near enough to cause such a huge change in your attitude towards me. You were so mad yesterday." I looked at him, seeing genuine curiosity in his eyes.
"Nothing much. Just how stupid we were acting yesterday." I didn't want to tell him exactly what had been said to me, because I didn't know how he would feel about me knowing this kind of thing.
"Hmm, we were pretty stupid. Me more than you."
"Doesn't matter, I was still stupid to let myself get mad over what I'm sure was meant to be an innocuous comment." Vic nodded, appearing to be debating what to reply.
"It wasnt meant to cause that reaction. But I should have told you about spring break earlier."
"That would have been good. Its too late to change it though."
"Yeah, it is. By the way, I know about the training in the gym. Want me to show you how to train more effectively after lunch?" I couldn't think how he knew, but I guess I had left the room looking different to usual.
"If that's okay? I was just kind of guessing what would be best." His eyes lit up at !my acceptance of his help.
"I had a personal trainer for a few years who taught me the best daily routine. I'll show you it."

The routine turned out to be tough, but I figured pout that it would probably be more effective than my work at something until I started to get tired. Vic was very calm and patient with me, and we had a laugh talking about it over dinner. I went to bed that night much happier. The next day was a collage day for Vic, Mike, Jaime and Tony, so I would spend the day with Juliet.
