Chapter 14

Suddenly, I hear "If I Lose Myself" play in the background and I realize it's my phone ringing.

"Hello?" I answered the phone groggily.

"Hey! Did I wake you?" Said Ryan?

I look at the time. Shit!! It's almost 9!

"No I was about to go in the shower." I say managing to keep my cool.

"Oh okay. I just left the studio so I'm gonna head home and change and I'll pick you up at 9:30 sharp so you better be ready or else."

"Ryan, I know you're smiling at the other end of the line." I say giggling at him.

He laughs.

"See ya later babe." He said making me bite my lip.

I hang up the phone and dash into the bathroom.

A few minutes later, I come out of the bathroom, dressed in black baggy sweatpants, black sports bra, and black Chuck Taylor's. I look at the time and I finish right on time. I grab my gray beanie and glasses, grab my duffle bag and run down stairs.

And just where do you think you're going?" Asked Jameira.

"Gonna go meet Ryan at the dance studio. I'll text you bye." I said slamming the door behind me as Ryan pulls up in front of my house.

I open the door throw my duffle bag in the back seat and get in the car.

"Hey!" I say smiling sweetly at Ryan.

"Hey yourself." He said leaning in and presses his lips against mine causing me to let out a soft moan while he smiles.

"So? Where are we going?"I said between kisses.

"If you keep kissing me like this then we're going to my place." He said chuckling.

I pull away from him. "Sorry I say innocently.

"And to answer your question, we are going to the dance studio just the two of us." He said running his hand through his hair as we drive off.

"So, tell me about yourself." Said Ryan coolly.

"Well, what would you like to know exactly?" I asked sweetly.

"Well, have you been to college? Do you have any siblings, what your favorite movie, what kind of music do you listen to? You know stuff like that." He said.

"Okay, in that case yes, I have gone to college, I graduated from NYU in performing arts, I'm an only child, my favorite movie would have to be The Goonies, I listen to pretty much everything although my tastes are leaning in to EDM. And I recently broke up with my ex boyfriend." I said looking down at my hands.

"Why would anybody cheat on a beautiful girl as yourself?" He asked cupping my chin.

"I-I don't know." I said sadly.

"Please don't be sad." He said sincerely.

"Why don't you tell me about yourself?" I asked trying to get my mind off Cameron.

"Well, I graduated from ORU, I'm also an only child, My favorite movie is the Goonies as well, and like you I listen to everything. And I'm-

He stops suddenly.

"You're what?" I asked wanting to know what he's gonna say.

"I'm recently divorced." He said not taking his eyes off the road.

"I'm sorry." I said placing my hand on his.

"It's alright." He said smiling at me.

"Is it okay if I ask why?" I mutter loud enough for him to hear.

He stops at a red light and looks at me.

"Do you really want to know?" He asked me and I nod.

"She left me." He said turning back at the road as the light went green and we drive off.
