Chapter 23

"You do?" I asked in surprise. I've been really caught off guard.

She nodded. She got down on her knees as well, cups my face and kissed me passionately. "Yes Ryan, I do."

I'm happy I really am but, reliving that memory just ruined it for me. I manage to fake a smile, but I fail miserably

"Ryan, are you alright?" She asked in concern.

"Oh uh yeah, I'm fine." I answered back.

"Are you sure?" She asked getting closer to me.

"Yeah, babe." I said smiling at her.

I grab her and pin her down on the floor. Her hands over her head and I kiss her. Suddenly a song pops in my head.

I get up and help up Kimberly off the floor and walk with her to the piano bench. "What are you doing Ryan?" She asked.

I sat down on the bench and she sits down next to me placing her head on my shoulder as I start playing.

"It's been a long time coming since I've seen your face and I never went back trying to replace everything that I've had till my feet went numb praying like a fool that's been on a run. Heart's still beating but it's not working, it's like a million dollar phone that you just can't ring I've reached out trying to love but I feel nothing oh my heart is numb but with you I feel again yeah with you I can feel again. Yeah."

She grabs my face and kisses me. "Nobody has ever sang to me before." She said blushing.

"Really? So I'm the first?" I said raising an eyebrow at her.

"Yeah." She replied nodding at me. And suddenly I start getting an idea.

"Have you written a song before?" I asked her.

"No. Why?" She asked me.

"I want to write a song and I want you to help me out." I replied smiling at her.

"Oh okay." She said nervously.

"Can you sing?" I asked her.

"A little bit. I haven't sang since college." She answered back.

"Alright." I say I start playing random keys and I'm thinking about how I should get her to start singing. Hmmm I think I got it.

"I stated up at the sun" I started singing.

"Oh hell no." She said laughing at me.

"Thought of all of the people, places, and things I've loved"

"Ryan no."

"I stared up just to see, of all of the places you were the one next to me." I said playing the piano in one hand while grabbing her waist, having her sit next to me.

"Come one baby, for me?" I asked her as I kissed her cheek.

"Fine, only for you." She answered back.

"You can feel the light, start to tremble, washing what you know out to sea, you can see your life out the window, tonight"

"If I lose myself tonight, it'll be by your side, if I lose myself tonight... Yeah, yeah, yeah, if I lose myself tonight, it'll be you and I, lose myself tonight." I hear her sing softly. She sings beautifully.

I stop playing the piano and she stops singing. "Why'd you stop playing?" She asked me.

"I'm just amazed by you. You can sing, you can dance... You're like a modern day renaissance woman." I said pulling her close to me.

"I am?" She said raising an eyebrow at me.

"Uhhh yeah." I said reassuring her.

She leans over and kisses me on the cheek.

"What was that for?" I asked in surprise.

"I don't know I just wanted to surprise you." She said smiling at me.

"What are we going to do about the NDA?" She asked me.

Oh shit I haven't even thought of that! "Rip it up." I said. I grab her hand and place it over my chest.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" I asked her. As she was about to answer there was a knock at the door.

"Wait right here." I said getting up from the piano bench and walk to the door and open it. I can't believe my eyes. "What are you doing here?!?!"
