Chapter 34

Brent's P.O.V

"Hey Brent the guys are looking for you." Said Ryan running out from the stairs.

"Oh uh yeah my bad." I said staring blankly at the parking lot taking a drag from my cigarette.

"Hey man, you okay?" He asked.

"Yeah I'm fine why do you ask?" I said coolly.

"Brent. You know why I'm asking." He answered back pointing at the cigarette in my hand.

"You know what I'm going through with Justine, because you did the exact same thing when you went through your divorce Ryan. Besides, I was smoking even before Justine and I got together. So before you judge me, take a good look at yourself in the mirror Ryan." I snapped back at him.

"You're right. I was a fucking wreck when she left me. I was drinking for weeks and kept getting into trouble. But at least I got the balls to realize that i was killing myself and got back on my feet after the divorce." He said angrily pinching the bridge of his nose.

That was a low blow. "Ryan, I'm sorry I didn't mean to say that." I said apologetically.

"Look Brent I am not going to lecture you. You're a grown man to make your own decisions. If you want to keep smoking, fine by me, but if you don't I can help you out." He looks at his watch. "Damn it. I gotta go." I'll see you at soundcheck." He said running to his car.

"Wait Ryan! where are you going?" I yelled out.

"I gotta go pick up my girlfriend!" He shouted as sped past me.

I shake my head. Yep Ryan's got it bad. Well as long as she makes him happy like he is now then it's fine with me. I take a drag of my cigarette and just stare at it.

"He's right you know." I heard Zach say from behind me.

"Damn it Zach not you too." I crossing my arms at him.

"I'm just saying that your health is more important to you." He said putting his hand on my shoulder. "By the way have you seen Ryan?"

"Oh yeah, he went to go pick up his girlfriend he said he'll meet us over at Fox Theatre." I said casually.

"Alright, then lets head over there now." He answered and we all get into Mark's van and drive off.

Sorry guys that this chapter is pretty short I couldn't really think that much yesterday since I was so excited that I got my tattoo done. But next chapter will be longer I promise.
