Chapter 24

There she was at my doorstep. What is she doing here? What does she want from me? And where's Copeland? "Genevieve, what do you want?" I said trying sound calm but deep down I'm enraged.

"Ryan, I need to talk to you. May I come in?" She asked.

Oh shit! Kim's still in there. Fuck it! She cheated on me. "Yeah sure come in." I said coolly. She does look beautiful, but I just can't be with her anymore she broke my heart. We walk into the living room and Kimberly's nowhere to be found. Damn it where could she be?

The two of us sit on the couch. "Where's Copeland?" I asked her raising an eyebrow.

"He's with my mother." She said in a clipped tone.

"Oh okay. How are things with you and Sean?" I asked feeling completely awkward. "We're doing well." She said smiling, but it doesn't reach her eyes.

"So why are you here?" I asked. She looks to the floor.

"Sean and I have been having a lot of problems lately. I'm gonna leave him." She said staring seductively at me.

I move away a little bit from her. "Uhhh okay? Why are you telling me this?" I asked. I don't know where she's going with this.

"I'm telling you this because I'm leaving Sean for you so we can be together." She said moving closer to me. You have got to be kidding me.

"Well I don't want you. I don't love you anymore." I said getting up from the couch.

"Why not?" She said getting up as well walking closer to me and I back away.

"You're very cynical you know that? You cheated on me with him and now you want me back?" I said in anger.

She tries to touch my cheek and I move it away from me. "Don't touch me!" I yell. And suddenly, I hear footsteps down the stairs, heels to be exact.

"Hey! Am I interrupting something?" I hear Kimberly say as she walked down the stairs.

My jaw drops. She looks stunning. She's wearing a gray summer dress and her long hair down past her shoulder blades, she just looks incredible.

"Ahem!" Said Genevieve loudly to snap me from staring at Kimberly.

"Oh uh Genevieve, this is my girlfriend, Kimberly. Kimberly, this is my ex-wife, Genevieve." I say nervously. Could things get anymore awkward?

"Nice to meet you." Said Kimberly with a smile. And it's not a fake smile either.

"Nice to meet you as well." She said putting on a fake smile. I know her so well.

"I was just about to invite Ryan to dinner with Sean and I so they can get to know each other." She said trying to pull a fast one.

"Oh, we'll join you." Said Kimberly holding my hand bouncing up and down. She looks like a teenager. I find it pretty funny.

"I think it would be better if Ryan joined us alone." Answered Genevieve failing to keep the bitterness from her voice.

"Either she goes or none of us goes." I say smirking at her.

There was a long moment of silence.

"Fine." She said putting her hands up in defeat.
