I then felt a tear drip and slide its way down my cheek to my chin.
But he took what I can't get back... And I don't even remember it.
"Section E can start boarding," the lady's voice rang in the gate area. I snapped out of my thought and stood up, grabbing the lever of my suitcase and following Niall and Karla to the tunnel entrance. I stood there in silence until Karla turned around to me. She noticed my tear marks on my cheek. "You alright?" she asked innocently. I gave a half smiled and nodded as I wiped my cheek with my jacket sleeve. I looked back at the terminal hall, and it was getting more crowded, but at every second it got more crowded, it got more solitary in my heart. I almost felt as if the world around me was fading into the greyscale and enclosing in around me. But as soon as the world was enclosing me in, the lady at the entrance of the tunnel told me to hand her my boarding pass. I hesitantly handed it to her. She snatched it quickly from me, and scanned it underneath her little red light that scanned the bar code. "Passport please," a man asked, who was standing up parallel to the lady at the desk. I handed it to him, and he flipped the blue pages and looked at me, and glanced back at the paper and handed it back to me with a smile. I turned back to the lady at the desk, she handed the boarding pass back to me, but this time with a scowl as an expression. "Thank you," I faintly replied, but she didn't answer.
I looked back and I noticed Niall was standing behind the line, watching us as we entered the tunnel. I gave a half smile and he waved like crazy at me. "I'm gonna miss you girls!" he yelled so loud that everyone in the near radius looked at him. That was when a girl in line discovered he was here and she ran up to him and hugged him and asked for an autograph. But before I could say 'I'm gonna miss you too' Niall was already being surrounded by little girls that looked about ten years old. The lady who handled the boarding passes, yelled, "Ma'am please go in the tunnel, you are going to make this plane late!" I rolled my eyes and entered the tunnel, following the curves of the it as I saw the open door of the plane.
A kind looking flight attendant greeted me on board, and helped me find my seat. I then realized I had to sit at the back of the plane. I read my boarding pass, "56E" that meant I was second to last seats, in the middle of the middle row. Fabulous.
I struggled to fight my way back there, throwing my purse on my seat. I picked up my suitcase and stuffed it into the overhead cabin, making sure it would be able to close on it. It worked.. thank God..
I looked around to see if Val or Karla were anywhere to be seen, I saw Val was sitting next to the window, and Karla was sitting next to her... about ten rows in front of me on the right . Harry did this on purpose to make me suffer. Damn him.
"KARLA!" I yelled, but she didn't hear me, she was too far up and I defiantly wasn't going to be able to walk nor make my way to her before the plane leaves. I gave up. I just sat down in my seat and picked up the crappy black headphones in the crack of the headrest of the seats. I pulled them out of the plastic wrapper they were in and stuffed it into the pocket of the seat in front of me. I organized myself by stuffing the complementary pillow under my seat, and unwrapping the red complementary blanket, and wrapping it around me. I wasn't only cold physically, but that is how my feelings felt as well.
An old man came up to the seat to the left of me, and he stuffed his giant green duffle bag in the overhead cabin by the seat. He plumped down onto the seat next to me, and sighed a deep sigh. He looked about 70 years old. I didn't see his face though. I pulled out my phone, to make it look like I was preoccupied, to avoid conversation with the man, but that failed.
The man turned to me. He smiled and played with the TV screen in front of him like he didn't know what it did. I gave a half smile and looked out of the window several seats away. It was dark and cloudy. Darker than usual actually. That was when the jets turned on.
