He opened up the little box and inside it was a ring.
"Catherine Taylor... this is a promise ring," he said as he bent down romantically and picked up the golden ring and slid it onto my ring finger. The ring had an inifnity symbol on top of it and I smiled. Harry continued to watch my reaction, and he was pleased because I was smiling to no end. "I'm glad you love it," he said as he stood up and kissed me, wrapping his arms around my lower back.
"I promise," I said as I pulled from our kiss. He smiled. "Promise what?" he said, wanting to hear the words from my lips themselves. I giggled, and bit my lower lip. "Well, I promise that I won't let you go," I smiled and he kissed me again. I entwined my fingers with his hair and he picked me up and spun me around. I absolutely loved it when he did that. He was so perfect. I can't believe I am saying this, but I am glad he took my ... first time.

After everyone else finished opening presents, all the rest of the family left. Even Brian, but before he left, I gave him a huge hug and I thanked him. "No, thank you for making my grandson so .. genuinely happy. He hasn't been that way in years," Brian said as I waved him off and helped him into his car. After he drove off I felt my eyes tear up, and I felt a cold, dark, winter wind blow.
I heard footsteps crackle on the concrete following up to me. I didn't turn to look who it was, but I guessed it in my head and I was right.
"Harry," I gently said, and he noticed my almost tears. His expression changed to a comforting face and he embraced me from behind. "It's okay," he whispered in my ear as he wrapped his coat around me. He slid his beanie on my head and that made me giggle. "I knew you liked wearing my beanie," he said, swinging his head around by my ear, his hair touching my ear ever so gently. He continued to embrace me as we faced towards the street in the cold, dark outdoors. He then started to lean side to side, causing me to rock with him.
It was silent outside, with the occasionally car passing. So Harry began to hum a song. A song I recognized. It was a song he wrote, called "Don't Let Me Go,". "You know this song?" he asked as he continued to hum, setting his head on my shoulder. I nodded with a smile as I wiped under my eyes with my free hand. "It reminds me of us," he said, nestling his head against mine. I smiled, "I was thinking that," I said with a giggle and he gave a short chuckle under his breath before turning me to him. He then started singing his song he wrote. I could almost hear the piano accompaniment with his perfectly tuned and toned words and voice.
"Now you were standing there right in front of me. I hold on it's harder to breathe. All of the sudden these lights are blinding me. I never noticed how bright they would be,"
I then chimed in with the next verse...
"I saw in the corner there is a photograph. No doubt in my mind it's a picture of you. It lies there alone in it's bed of broken glass,"
Harry took the next line..
"This bed was never made for two,"
Me: "I'll keep my eyes wide open,"
Harry: "I'll keep my arms wide open,"
We then both sang the beginning of the chorus..
"Don't let me... Don't let me... "
Then Harry turned my head to face him, and he sung the lines of the song, that he had said to me in real life before.
"Don't let me go, cause I'm tired of feeling alone. Don't let me, Don't let me go. ... Cause I'm tired of feeling alone,"
I felt the world spin, and the only clear-in-focus spot was Harry. Harry meaningfully looked at me and the whole world turned hazy. I smiled and stared into his now bright green eyes, and he stared into mine. He smiled. "Thank you," he said quietly. "Thank you so much," he repeated as he slammed my torso into his, embracing me in a tight hug and I quickly hugged him back just as tightly.
"Like I said, please don't let me go," he pleaded, continuing to look into my eyes, raising his hands to cup my face. I grabbed his wrists and looked at him. "I never will. I never will," I began... "Besides, all I wanted for Christmas was you," I reminded him and his face lit up more than I expected it to, and my insides felt giddy. Suddenly, Harry kissed me, this time, it was a meaningful kiss. One that felt like it could last forever. One where it felt like everything in the world slowed down to a rest, except for Harry and I. It was a kiss that felt like we were meant to be, star-crossed lovers, a perfect pair.
Suddenly I felt a small drop of something touch the tip of my nose. I pulled from Harry and looked up. There were white specks floating from the heavens. "It's snowing," I smiled with my teeth bearing through and I jolted to Harry who was staring at the dark night sky as well. He smiled, glancing at me and back at the sky, and he pulled my closer to him. "We made it snow,"" he said as he gently kissed the top of my head, and the snow started to fall harder around us. We continued to stand there, in the night, near the road in the gently falling snow. Harry pulled me closer as I shivered in delight and coldness, and I nuzzled against him, and I felt content for the first time. I wasn't stressed out about a decision Karla made, I wasn't stressing out about losing my sister in the streets of London, I wasn't stressing out about an entire fandom (and the biggest fandom at that) hating me for "breaking" the heart of the love of their lives, I wasn't stressed out about finding a way back to the states, and I wasn't stressed out about anything that happened pre-London. Anything that happened back in the states. It has felt like ages since we've been there, and I don't want to go back, even though it's inevitable that I will have to go back after winter break, but it doesn't matter. I got to meet Harry. Even if I barely knew him, even if Karla introduced me to him, I am glad I got to meet this perfect boy. I don't love him because he's "Harry Styles of One Direction the biggest band on the planet" no.. I love him for being Harry. The stubborn, cute, sarcastic, quirky, silly, lovable, adorable, witty, down-to-earth Harry who grew up in Holmes Chapel. I am going to thank Karla immensely when I get back to school and see her (I know she will be busy in Ireland hanging with Niall until then) because she is the reason I came here. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have known ANYTHING about these boys. I wouldn't have had the adventures I have gone in in the past few days, or week, or whatever. I wouldn't have found out that I am more than that girl who got made fun of at school for wearing "out of style" clothing, or that girl who was invisible to the world, and who hid at the back of the class, hoping not to be called on because no one appreciated her opinion. I am surprised that this project for my class turned into something and some trip that I will never forget. And I know Harry and Karla and Val and everyone that was associated with us won't forget either.
As I was lost in thought Harry turned his face to me again. "By the way, you are a really good singer. I might want to record with you one day, and the song we sang earlier would be the best choice of a song to record together, considering it is well... out song I guess," he giggled and looked around, but not focussing on my eye contact. I giggled. "You are the first person other than Karla who has heard me sing!" I laughed, but he tilted my head to look at his. "Well, I want the world to know just how perfect you are before you leave to go back to the states," he said with a smile. I shrugged with a smile bearing across my face. "Who knows," I said as I kissed his cheek and his face was really warm. He had been blushing. I swear, he is the cutest thing ever, and I am proud to say he is mine, and I am his.
