I woke up at 7:00AM the next day.
It was my birthday.
I'm 18 now.
Woah.
I sprang out of the bedsheets and brushed my hair as fast as humanly possible. I tossed on my old vintage Green Day T-shirt that my dad wore when he was a teen, and I slipped on my jean shorts with the British flag embroidered on them on the sides (vintage as well). I jogged over to my closet and flipped through my shoes, deciding what would work best. I finally decided on my Black high top Converse.
After I slipped them on I ran to the mirror and touched up my mascara a bit and smiled at my reflection. "Eighteen. Finally," I whispered to myself as I heard my name being yelled from downstairs. I skipped down them, tripping halfway down, and I caught myself before I hit the tile floor. "I'm here!" I announced more cheerful than I imagined. "Come here, I got you breakfast!" Uncle Tyler yelled as I saw Katie and Val already eating at the table. "Are you off work today?" I asked him and he nodded. "Fridays are my day off," he smiled, and he handed me a box that had the words "Sunshine Donuts" printed and stamped on top of it. I set the box on the counter and flipped the lid open. It was a kolache, and a chocolate donut with coconut sprinkles on it. My favorite. "Thank you Uncle Tyler!" I exclaimed, picking up the donut and biting a chunk out of it. Uncle Tyler chuckled under his breath. "It's your birthday, I figured you should have your favorite breakfast!" he smiled, and I smiled back, my mouth full of donut. I glanced over at Katie and Val, who were sharing a box of kolaches. Katie smiled when she saw me coming towards her. "Happy birthday Cat!" she chimed, and Val nodded. Val said the same thing after she swallowed her food. I giggled and finished my box of food and I gazed at my phone. 8:00AM. Oh no. I'm late for work!
"Bye Uncle Tyler, and thank you again! Bye Katie and Val I'll see you guys later. Tell Aunt Mae I said hi and bye!" I yelled before I ran outside to my car and stuck the key in the lock, expecting it to turn to open. It didn't.
"Are you kidding me?" I yelled to the car as I tried to pull the key out... that didn't work either. "Oh my God," I continued, trying to twist the key to freedom, and then I gave up. I was breathing heavily, and I looked around to find something to get to work in, since work is only a short 5 minute drive. I knew that Uncle Tyler was busy at home and Katie and Val obviously cannot drive, so I finally spotted my neighbors' motorcycle. The lady who lived there taught me how to drive it a few summers ago, and she occasionally lets me drive it around town, usually with her assistance, but I just needed a ride, maybe she'll come with me.
I ran up to her door and knocked on it, waiting patiently for an answer. No answer. I knocked again and finally a man answered the door, wearing a Harley Davidson sleepshirt, and boxers. It was a bit awkward. "Um, is Mrs. Kasen here?" I asked, glancing back at the bike. The man hesitated, and then answered, "Sure sure, she'll be right here, now you just wait here a moment," he said with a smile before closing the door and yelling a name that sounded like "Sara" but I could be wrong. I knew her as Mrs. Kasen.
Not more than a few seconds later Mrs. Kasen answered the door. She smiled at me, and asked me what I needed. I explained everything to her, and she handed me the keys to the bike. "Ya think you can handle it?" she winked, and I half smiled and laughed unsurably. "Eh, you got it," she said, patting me hard on the back. "Oh and one thing," she said as she bent back and handed me her bike helmet. "Bring 'er home safely whenever you get off work Cat. And consider this your birthday present," she smiled as she closed the door and I spun on my heels to be face to face with the bike. I took a deep breath and walked towards it, touching the chrome on the sides. I felt nervous, but I was excited to ride it. I glanced at my phone in my pocket again. 8:15AM. I am so late.
I swung my legs over the bike and slid the helmet on my head. I twisted my wrist to start the bike and reved it up. I felt like a rebel. I liked it. I then pushed off with my foot and I started to ride down the street... to my work... which I am extremely late to.
HARRY'S POV:
I was in the hotel in the town of Cat's residence. I was excited.
I woke up in the uncomfortable hotel bed, with a pain in my back, I turned over and felt the mattress and noticed that there was a spring loose RIGHT where I slept. Awesome.
I flipped over the side and noticed it was a quarter past 8:00. Jet lag sucks. I was so tired.
I got dressed and slipped my shoes over my socks. I walked slowly to the mirror over the sink and flipped my hair over to fluff it up. I didn't do anything to it. Normally I do my best to style my hair, but today I wore it how Cat likes it. Down, soft, curly and fluffy. In fact she called me fluffy a few times in London because she loved my hair like that so much.
After I was groomed up I walked over to the table by the TV, and saw I had a new message on my phone. Inside I hoped that it would be Cat, wanting me back, but it was Cara. Shit.
"Hey baby. How is the states? I heard you took a trip to NYC again. Tell me all about it, text me soon! I miss you! Love you! xxx"
Who told her I went to New York City? Where did that even come from? Whatever. It was probably Louis. He's just probably trying to cover me up. If Cara knew I came to try to re-kindle a "romance" or whatever Cat and I were, she would literally kill me. And the whole fandom of mine would kill me too, because They even started their own fandom for Cara called the Delevingners. I would literally die if this came out, and I'm surprised it hasn't yet. I left my phone there and sighed. "Nope, not falling for it," I said before I walked out the door, leaving my phone on the table. I got in my car, and searched up Cat's address in my GPS. It was only a short ten minute drive from my hotel. I'm almost there.
