Later on that day.
Ring. Ring. Ringring. Ring. Ring. Ringring.
My phone wouldn't shut up, so I grabbed it off of the counter and picked it up. It was my mom's number. "Hello?" I heard a man's voice ask. "Yes?" I asked, curious as to why a man was using my mom's phone... maybe she got a boyfriend or something? "This is your Uncle Tyler," I heard the man's voice state. I was extremely confused. "Can I talk to mom?" I asked, wanting to know why her phone was just randomly lying around. I heard a sigh and a sniffle. What. Was. Going. On. "Is mom okay is she there? I need to tell her everything that has happened she is going to be so proud of me!" I said, my voice getting higher pitched. Still just the sound of, what sounded like.... Crying. "Uncle Tyler?" I asked, my tone getting normal again. "Sweetheart, your mother... Isn't coming home," he said. "Well, I know she isn't coming home until after Christmas... Aunt Mae told me that a few days ago," I answered, trying to push bad ideas out of my mind. "No Catherine. She... She..." "She what?" I asked impatiently. "She's dead," he answered, followed by silence.
