- The story fast forwards to the end of May. Uncle Tyler and Aunt Mae bring their daughter Katie and move into Cat and Val's house since it was bigger than their old house. Catherine's graduation is right around the corner. She is getting ready to move across half the nation to Los Angeles, California to attend Cal State. The stresses of passing classes, packing her room, and the stress of thinking about graduation are covering her, and make her start forgetting Harry.
CAT'S POV:
"Hand me my stack of DVDs," I ordered Val, who maturely handed them to me. I thanked her and set them in the box with my DVD player and CDs. I folded the flaps of the box to where the contents wouldn't fall out violently in the mail. Val handed me another box, which she had duct-taped up and I set it next to my newly folded one. I sighed and glanced around my empty room. "I guess that's about it," I remarked as I gave Val a high five and she ran downstairs into the living room. Uncle Tyler and Katie were down there, watching a movie of some sort. I didn't pay any attention. "Hey Cat ready for Friday?" Katie asked me, indicating graduation, glancing my way. I nodded with a big grin laid out upon my face. She smiled back and continued watching her movie with her dad. "There's lunch in the kitchen on the counter," Uncle Tyler said smiling and I smiled back as I ran on my tiptoes to the kitchen to find Aunt Mae holding a box. "Whatcha got there?" I asked, not getting too close. She smiled and held the box closer to herself. "Nothing," I rolled my eyes and came next to her. It was a box that had an image of an iPhone 5S on it. "YOU GOT ME A PHONE?!" I yelled hugging her. This was the first hug I have given her in months. "Be careful and don't break it," she instructed and I took it with joy and ran upstairs. I haven't had a phone in five months. That's intense.
I got onto my laptop and played the first song on my iTunes account. It was the song "That's My Kind Of Night" by Luke Bryan. I love me some country music. :)
As I lip sang to the song, I checked my email account. I had one new mail. I clicked it, and it was Cal State's letter of acceptance thingy. But... as I continued to read it my face dropped. "What?" I murmured. to myself, feeling my whole body drop onto my bed. "How could I have not gotten in?" I asked myself, reading the words that read:
"Dear Catherine Taylor,
We are sorry to inform you, but your admission has been rejected to California State University at Los Angeles. Have a nice day. - Cal State Undergraduate Admissions."
What am I going to do?! I already have everything packed. It's two days till graduation, and I have no where else to go... except London... But I can't just go there randomly. I already had my mind set about Cal State...
