The moment we stepped into the club, blasting music engulfed us. I can literally feel my eardrums explode inside my ears. I won't be surprised if I would need an eardrum transplant, if that even exists, after tonight.

I never noticed how noisy clubs can be before. Is it really this ear shattering or does Barcode just specialises in ear-blasting music? I don't get it why some single girls go to clubs to find a decent man to date. You can't even hear your inner voice talk, how the hell will you have any sort of conversation with another person?!

Besides, guys who go to clubs to meet girls are men like Jayce-- the screw them then dump then kind of guys. I know it's kind of harsh to say about my best friend. But those exact words came from him. I'm just repeating a direct quotation.

We made our way to the bar to order some drinks. I'm not much of a savvy drinker so I started off with something light--beer. Allen ordered the same while Jayce went for a little something stronger.

We sat on the stools available at the bar while waiting for our drinks. It's quite a full house at the club so our drinks might come a little later.

"Soooo, my dear dear Alex, how you feel huh?" I think this is becoming another one of Jayce' lines now. "Does it feel nice to be back to the party scene?" I opened my mouth to answer but apparently he can read minds. "You don't even have to answer that, I already know the answer", he winked at me and I scrunch my eyebrows together in confusion, "And you're welcome".

"Hey, aren't you gonna ask me?" Allen asked butting in the conversation.

"Nope", Jayce said simply. Allen's eyes widened and shut a glare at him. I just chuckled at my two best friends.

"So what is exactly the plan?" I asked. I didn't trust Jayce and his Mission: Finding Alex thing. I think it's sounds like a movie mash-up of Mission Impossible and Finding Nemo. I'm betting a hundred bucks that's where he got that idea. All I know is that I'm just really going with the flow. This is better than sulking alone in Allen's couch. At least I'm doing something albeit I don't know what I'm doing.

Our beers and Jayce' vodka were handed to us by the waiter. Hey, we didn't have to wait too long. We muttered our thanks and paid the waiter, and moved away from the bar, finding a better place to sit in.

There were a few couches to seat on and we had to share with a couple who couldn't care too much since they're busy sucking each others' faces.

"So?" I looked at Jayce and then Allen.

"Don't look at me. I'm as clueless as you are", he explained. We both look at Jayce, waiting for his answer.

All he did was snicker and said, "I don't know either!"

"What the fuck?!" I exclaimed. "So what's with the whole Mission: Finding Alex shit?"

"I thought it was a cool name!" He retorted. "What's so wrong about it?"

I sighed. "Nothing. I thought you guys would help understand this whole thing with Cass. Forget it."

"Of course, we are helping you!" Jayce bit back. "All I'm saying is I don't have a concrete plan to work on. That's not how I keep the ball rollin' bro. Let's take it step by step."

I quirked my eyebrow and he continued his speech.

"This is just the first step. Chill. We have to find out if you left her because you miss the good ol' days."

"Good old days?"

"Yeah when you were more like me than Allen right now", he smirked at him.
